Amika Blow Up Spray- I have really liked the Amika products I’ve tried before so I enjoyed getting another. This is also a nice 2 fl. oz size, definitely enough to try. This is a lightweight mist meant to lift & add shine for the perfect blowout. You can use it on damp or dry hair.

Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water- First off, I’ve pretty much adored everything i’ve tried from Caudalie. I just swoon at the though. I have been using the oil off & on & it is my favorite. But, like most Caudalie products, pricey. I have been totally addicted to cleansing waters & this is no exception. Silky smooth!

 photo August2013Birchbox07_zpse5a15966.jpg

Coastal Scents Eyeshadow- This shade selection is so much better than the one I received in Ipsy awhile back! Okay neutrals & if they’re in a palette a nice price. i have some Coastal Scents palettes I really love. Wish these were in something other than plastic though!

 photo August2013Birchbox05_zps0490ffd0.jpg

Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Hedge Fund- A nail polish? Yes please! This shade is a lovely shimmery green. I haven’t put it on…yet…sorry! I’m still excited though! & this is apparently from Ruffian’s first collection & exclusive to Birchbox.

Beauty Extra Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream- Also haven’t tried this! I’ve been using a full skincare system & didn’t want o introduce something new yet. I’ve heard wonderful things about this cream though. Celebs talk about it a lot! It is supposed to be good for everything from wrinkles to burns.

Nice box! Pretty much any box including a polish makes me happy, I’m a sucker I know. If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox is a subscription service costing only $10 a month. Here’s my referral link if you’re interested in signing up! Any brands or products in this box catch your eye? If you’re subscribed to Birchbox, what did you receive?

Love. This polish is love. But I am indeed getting ahead of myself. The OPI San Francisco collection didn’t blow my mind. I’m from California so I was quite excited but there just wasn’t a wow factor for me personally. Except for OPI Alcatraz…Rocks. This was the polish I wanted most & I went on a hunt. But it wasn’t easy. I hit at least 5 different OPI retailers without luck. It seems a lot of places got the core shades but not the OPI San Francisco Liquid Sand Shades. It made me very angry. But now that I have it & am having a serious affair…I’m ready to share it with you guys!

OPI Alcatraz…Rocks Liquid Sand Nail Polish- A cool toned navy base packed with multi-colored shimmer mainly green, purple, & gold. 3 coats, no topcoat. Textured finish.

 photo OPIAlcatrazRocksSwatchesReview01_zpsb6c6e15f.jpg

 photo OPIAlcatrazRocksSwatchesReview05_zpse7bba382.jpg

This dried wonderfully fast & I’ve been wearing it for 3 days now. I just adore it. Barely any wear except a bit on my pointer which is likely from typing & kitchen counter cleaning. This is easily one of my favorite textured shades I’ve tried yet…this combo is just fabulous & so fall/winter appropriate. I love the different shades of shimmer, lots of depth. This is also an excellent layering shade, just put it over another shade for a seriously cool textured result.

What do you think of this shade? Are you lusting after OPI Alcatraz…Rocks? Are there any other OPI San Francisco shades I need to check out? I found my OPI Alcatraz…Rocks Liquid Sand Nail Polish at Ulta for $9.

Glossybox USA August 2013 featuring Guess, Sue Devitt, & More!

PR Sample. Affiliate links.

Glossybox provides a last kiss of summer this month with some seriously great products. This time there are 4 full size products plus a deluxe sample…great value. Plus there are some new brands in here I’ve been dying to try…win! Keep reading to see what was inside!

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013012_zps26cc3034.jpg
 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013013_zps09f492a7.jpg

This months box is themed Bohemian Summer but the products seem perfect for year round use. This was an excellent box containing 4 full sized items…awesome value! You’ll see a facial spray, lip product, face powder, hair treatment, & skincare product.

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust201301_zpse2265145.jpg

Inside was also a cute very light denim cosmetics bag from Guess & a coupon. Cute! Wish I’d had it for the summer, so denim cutoffs! Plus I like that it is actual fabric so it should be reasonably easy to clean.

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013014_zps6a1c61e4.jpg

You’ll see a facial spray, lip product, face powder, hair treatment, & skincare product. Again, awesome sizes!

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013017_zps23515487.jpg

Airelle Berrimatrix Intense Repair Complex- So basically this is supposed to strength & hydrate deprived cells then renew & brighten skin with antioxidants & botanicals. This is a decent sample because the layer is oober thin & almost like a slick gel.

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013016_zps1b6db875.jpg

Anatomicals Spray Misty for Me Facial Spritz– I love facial sprays so a full size? Yay! This is also in a nice price range since it is only $9. I have dry skin so I use facial sprays as both pick-me-ups to rehydrate skin & to seal makeup. This smells freaking awesome with notes of lavender, rose, witch hazel, & more. My skin loves it too! The only thing I’d change is I’m used to a finer mist.

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013015_zps76b6f871.jpg

Novex Brazilian Keratin Hair Care Treatment Cream– Another full size & this one is only $4.99 so I was intrigued! This is a super rich creme that is dense & smells like a high-end salon shampoo. It is a preemptive treatment in anticipation of drier seasons, perfect for pre-fall!

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013019_zps02111d09.jpg

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush- I’ve heard of these before, maybe they’re big in another country? This is a jumbo moisturizing balm stain & I love the pink shade. Pretty! This is kind of a mix between my Sally Hansen Balm Stains & a sheer gloss. Very pretty & an $18.00 value.

 photo GlossyboxUSAAugust2013018_zps17ca0073.jpg

Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder– Freaking excitement. I’ve actually been wanting to try this powder for awhile. This is ultra-fine & nourishing, perfect for my combination dry skin. Super soft & natural looking. Retails for a whopping $28.00 so this made the box worthwhile on its own!

Overall, an excellent value in this box! I love getting lippies, this powder is even better than I expected, a hair product aimed for use now, a facial spray, & a deluxe skin sample? I’m pretty darn happy! Anything catch your eye? Did you get anything different this month? I’d love to see it! If you’re interested in signing up for Glossybox USA it is a monthly subscription service for only $21 a month. I have posted lots of reviews so check them out for reference!

Sephora by OPI in Lights, Glammer-a, Action! Swatches & Review

 photo SephoraLightsGlammer-aActionNailPolish03_zps346ca6c4.jpg

I bought it. Affiliate links.

For those that don’t know, Sephora by OPI is being discontinued to make room for a new line so they are all on clearance. I picked some up on sale for 3 for $10 in the Sephora store but the deal is also active online. I quite like this line, especially the glitters which they call Jewelry Top Coats, so if you’re interested they’re a great deal. Today I show off Sephora by OPI in Lights, Glammer-a, Action! over Sinful Shine Royal Flush which I reviewed here.

Sephora by OPI in Lights, Glammer-a, Action!- Medium faded gold hexes, small silver hexes, & teal micro-hexes suspended in a clear base. 2 coats.

For the photos I topped the glitter with a coat of Out the Door. Love me some glitz, how about you? I thought this combo was unique enough to snap up since they were on big sale & I was buying some for myself & as gifts. I think this will be really pretty over fall shades with the faded gold & teal scattered loveliness. I’m thinking I’ll pair it with Zoya Louise for a rich chocolate base!

What do you think? Is this glitter combo a hit? Are you checking out the Sephora by OPI line before it is going…going..gonzo?

Halloween 2013 Fantasy Makers by Wet n Wild Sets Swatches & Review

September 14, 2013 By StephanieLouise 318Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F09%2Fhalloween-2013-fantasy-makers-by-wet-n.htmlHalloween+2013+Fantasy+Makers+by+Wet+n+Wild+Sets+Swatches+%26+Review2013-09-14+00%3A12%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F09%2Fhalloween-2013-fantasy-makers-by-wet-n-wild-sets-swatches-review.html

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReviewMain2_zpsd6ea62cf.jpg
I bought it.

I love Halloween. Halloween, Halloween…Halloween! I stopped in K-Mart a bit ago to snap up some of the Fantasy Makers Halloween sets (from the creators of Wet n Wild for reference!) because I honestly just can’t help myself. Each set contains an eyeshadow duo, mini nail polish, mini lipstick, & a set of dramatic lashes. Keep reading to see what I thought of each set!

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview08models_zpse28b75a1.jpg

I bought 3 of the options available: Vampiress, Wicked Queen, & Pixie Princess. Each has kind of a model representation in the upper right hand corner for the look which I blew up for you here. I thought it was a bit odd that none of them were wearing the false lashes though?Swatches & reviews further down but first a run down of each of the sets I bought.

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview03_zps7f09e84b.jpg

Fantasy Makers by Wet n Wild Wicked Look Cosmetic Kit in Vampiress: This set comes with a deeper brick red lipstick, eyeshadow duo with a shimmering red toned cranberry & brown with bronze shimmer, metallic looking red nail polish & dramatic lashes with some red detailing. This is my favorite eyeshadow duo & I like that the combo isn’t something I’d necessarily put together for a vamp look.

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview02_zpsf4a0e3df.jpg

Fantasy Makers by Wet n Wild Wicked Look Cosmetic Kit in Wicked Queen: This look says less Wicked Queen & more Ice Princess to me but whatever. The nail polish is a silver holo which is fun, a vampy, dark purple lipstick, a silvery grey & blue eyeshadow duo, & lashes with diamond accents. The grey in this is actually quite nice but the blue is meh.

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview01_zps4a5374e6.jpg

Fantasy Makers by Wet n Wild Wicked Look Cosmetic Kit in Pixie Princess: This is your pink & pumpkin patch set. Orange & green eyeshadow duo, pink nail polish, pink lipstick, & some awesome flared silver holo lashes. Neither of the shades in the duo show up as pigmented but the green has a pretty sheen. The pink is super wearable & these lashes are by far my favorite…they’re pretty out there!

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview0820_zps096613b4.jpg
 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview08eyes_zps2d5bd1e1.jpg

The Eyeshadow Duos: Most of these shades aren’t quite up to the Wet n Wild trio/8 pan standards but I do really like the red, brown & grey shades. The other shades are more sheer, a bit harder to pick up, & are noticeably different in quality.

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReviewLashes01_zps7327980c.jpg
 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview08Lashes_zpsa14797d7.jpg

The False Eyelashes: Aren’t these lashes fun this year? Obviously the Pixie Princess lashes are my favorite…so fairy queenish! Ultra dramatic as well! The diamond ones just aren’t my favorite kind, I dig some outer flair. I might cut them in half & put them on my outer lashline. The red ones are fun & appear to be a bit tinsel-y!

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview08Lips_zps021312d3.jpg

The Lipsticks: All three of the lipsticks are Wet n Wild quality & I might possibly have dupes from the permanent line? I totally dig all 3 though & always enjoy the Wet n Wild lipstick formula. They’re all completely different as well so no repeats between these 3 sets!

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReview07_zpsa25dba3b.jpg

The Nail Polishes: I kind of wish they had included more Halloween-ish shades but these colors are like the Wet n Wild Mega Shine line. The pink is actually much brighter, much have neon pigment because it photographed super wonky. Love this glitter though, perfect for travel.

 photo Halloween2013FantasyMakersWetnWildSwatchesReviewMain_zpsf15e3b28.jpg

All in all, some hits & misses here. I like the Vampiress set the best, the lashes are original, lipstick fall appropriate, eyeshadows nice quality, & the nail polish fits in. Love the Pixie Princess lashes (for the millionth time!) & the lipstick is wearable. The Wicked Queen set has a nice grey, lovely polish, & a nice vampy lipcolor. I’m pretty happy!

What do you guys think, will you be picking up any of these sets? Anything catch your eye? Have you tried any of the other options?

Friday the 13th Bloody Static TV Nail Art!

September 13, 2013 By StephanieLouise 319Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F09%2Ffriday-13th-bloody-static-tv-nail-art.htmlFriday+the+13th+Bloody+Static+TV+Nail+Art%212013-09-13+07%3A00%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F09%2Ffriday-the-13th-bloody-static-tv-nail-art.html

 photo Fridaythe13thBloodyTVStaticNailArtManicureHalloweenMain_zps11021929.jpg

I bought it.

Halloween is my very favorite holiday of the year & Friday the 13th this year feels like a little preview! I wanted to take a page from a scene you’ll see in lots of horror/slasher flicks: the static TV. You know exactly what I mean…the TV gets all static-y & suddenly…it gets eerie. Yeah! I went with an easy design but I think it captured the vibe!

 photo Fridaythe13thBloodyTVStaticNailArtManicureHalloween05_zps50ea9253.jpg

Base Coat: Essie Base Coat in Grow Stronger
Base Color: Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Color in French White Creme
Black & White Glitters: Claire’s Splatter (review here) & Hard Candy Black Tie Optional
Matte Top Coat: Butter LONDON Matte Finish Shine Free Top Coat
Red Glitter “Blood”: NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in 116 Broadway Burgundy Frost

 photo Fridaythe13thBloodyTVStaticNailArtManicureHalloween03_zpse2d0c27a.jpg
 photo Fridaythe13thBloodyTVStaticNailArtManicureHalloween02_zpse2551722.jpg

Honestly I started out with the Claire’s Splatter polish over the white & had forgotten that it was that scattered. I reached for the Hard Candy afterwards. I wanted it to look a bit dull in comparison to the “blood” so I topped it with Butter LONDON Matte. I chose to use the NYC in Broadway Burgundy Frost because I thought back to this rave from Nouveau Cheap & sifted through my stash to find it. While the name is just silly (not burgundy… not a frost at all…) the color fit with my idea. I figured the shimmer would catch the light & the jelly formula would let you see beneath & look liquidy/glossy.

I’m pretty darn happy with the outcome! I’m curious about what you think about this look & Friday the 13th in general. Are you superstitious? What’s on your nails this fine day?

Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Slim Pencils Swatches & Review

September 12, 2013 By StephanieLouise 320Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F09%2Fjordana-12-hr-made-to-last-liquid.htmlJordana+12+HR+Made+to+Last+Liquid+Eyeliner+Slim+Pencils+Swatches+%26+Review2013-09-12+20%3A00%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F09%2Fjordana-12-hr-made-to-last-liquid-eyeliner-slim-pencils-swatches-review.html

 photo Jordana12HRMadetoLastSlimEyeliners01_zps25877378.jpg
I bought it. Affiliate links.

I picked up 4 shades from the new Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencils. I already reviewed their new jumbo eyeshadow sticks here & was wowed so i was really excited about these! If you’ve been following me for awhile then you know I’m a huge fan of the Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencils & hoped these would be comparable. I was only able to pick up 4 shades but there are 6 total. Keep reading to see if you need them!
From the Jordana website:

  • Intense, Instant Color Eyeliner that is Made to Last
  • Smooth-Gliding Pencil For a Precise Application
  • Water and Transfer Resistant
  • Paraben- Free
  • Made in USA

They were all out of the shade Black Point & Aqua Stone looked similar to shades I already had so I picked up Purple Fix, Charcoal Definition, Espresso Last, & Jade Jewel. They are super soft & creamy, perfect for the waterline. They are also crazy long wearing, very similar to their Milani sister brand formula, & glide right on with fab pigmentation. The product itself is really soft so do use with care, you shouldn’t need to press all that much because they really do perform like a liquid. Sharpen with care a well.

 photo Jordana12HRMadetoLastSlimEyeliners02_zps9055661f.jpg
 photo Jordana12HRMadetoLastSlimEyeliners03_zps9d43bd75.jpg

Left to right: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner in Purple Fix, Charcoal Definition, Espresso Last, & Jade Jewel.

Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner in Purple Fix- A royal purple with vibrant purple shimmer that dries to a satin finish.

Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner in Charcoal Definition- Highly pigmented charcoal grey with fine silver shimmer.

Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner in Espresso Last- A rich matte brown. Identical dupe to both the Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Tenacious Brown & Milani Shadow Eyez Limited Edition Shade in Espresso Line but in a slim pencil. You can see those two shades compared here.

Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner in Jade Jewel- A smoky base with intense emerald shimmer. It almost looks metallic but after it sets it looks a bit more like a rich satin.

Once these shades set, they aren’t budging. At all. They last ages on the waterline like my Rimmel Scandal Eyes & the Milani pencils that I’m pretty sure these are based on. The formula is pretty much identical. These are very similar to the NYX Slide-On Pencils, Jordana 12 HR Jumbo Eye Pencils, Urban Decay 24/7 Liners, Milani Shadow Eyez, Rimmel Scandal Eyes, & my Sephora Flashy Liners. Creamy, rich, & easy to use. So how do you choose? I say go by color! Choose colors you like the best from different ranges until you have a collection you truly love since they all perform similarly.

You know what isn’t comparable to other brands? The price! These shades are only $2.99 & if you wait it out you can likely snag a deal. I found mine in a new display at Walgreens. I can only hope they come out with more than 6 shades…because I’ll snap them up!

Stur Zero Calorie Natural Sweeteners Review

When it comes to living healthy the first thing you want to do is look at what your drinking. Are you chugging down all your calories? Is getting enough hydration part of your problem? Can you make some clever switches? If you are a water drinker like me then you don’t have to worry too much about all that…except the boredom. Sometimes you just want something different! Stur is an all natural additive that doesn’t contain any chemical or artificial sweetners. Basically it is instant yummy without the guilt!

 photo SturNaturalFlavorsZeroCalorieWater01_zps8878f4ee.jpg

If you love having options then I think you’ll like Stur a lot when it comes to flavoring. My husband loves similar flavorings but leans more on the child-like flavoring options. If you like natural flavors instead then you’re bound to find at least one winner. I feel like these 6 options are an excellent selection that gives you a decent variety. Keep reading to see how I drink them for ideas!

 photo SturinaGlassStrawberryPhoto_zpsd9d790ee.jpg

Stur Features:
▪ Lightly sweetened with stevia leaf extract
▪ Natural fruit flavors
▪ Zero calories
▪ Sugar free
▪ Gluten free
▪ Caffeine free
▪ Vegan
▪ 7 essential vitamins – A, D, E, B3, B5, B6, B12
▪ NO artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors
▪ Add to water, soda water and even cocktails!
▪ Portable – great for travel
▪ SuperControl squeeze-top, for portion control

The flavors I received to try are Orange Mango, Lemonade, Cucumber Mint, Strawberry, Lemon Tea, & PomeCranberry. Obviously these are all great in water but I’ve used them a few more ways! My tips below!

 photo SturNaturalFlavorsZeroCalorieWater02_zps35864a0e.jpg

Purely Orange Mango- An easy favorite! Add this to a vodka tonic for more of a mimosa flavoring!
Honestly Lemonade- Who doesn’t love lemonade? Add to water for the classic “touch of lemon” flavor. Also really great in tea for a splash of citrus!
Only Cucumber Mint- The perfect spa type water…tastes expensive. Best while giving yourself a manicure or wearing a fancy face mask!

 photo SturNaturalFlavorsZeroCalorieWater03_zps1b5cc918.jpg

Simply Strawberry- Probably my favorite. I love this on its own & also mixed with the lemonade flavor for the oh so tasty strawberry lemonade flavoring!
Proudly Tea + Lemon- This is nice on its own but it is also really good mixed with the fruity flavors for a custom blended iced tea.
Truly PomeCranberry- Lovely! Use it to flavor a “cosmo” or mix with some club soda for a fruity mix that tastes a bit fall.

Completely safe for kids & even pregnant women, this is a healthy alternative to sugary drinks for everyone. You can purchase from www.sturdrinks.com, QVC, & Amazon. I honestly have no complaints except that I hope they come out with some larger sizes. They’re great for portability but I totally demolished that Stur Simply Strawberry…yum!
