Tarte Off the Cuff Amazonian Clay Blush Palette for Holiday 2013 Swatches & Review

November 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 263Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Ftarte-off-cuff-amazonian-clay-blush.htmlTarte+Off+the+Cuff+Amazonian+Clay+Blush+Palette+for+Holiday+2013+Swatches+%26+Review2013-11-08+21%3A57%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Ftarte-off-the-cuff-amazonian-clay-blush-palette-for-holiday-2013-swatches-review.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for this palette! I bought the Tarte holiday kit last year (see review here) 77% for the blushes & have picked up quite a few since. But a blush palette? That’s my jam. There is something just so incredibly right with this palette- from the variation in shades to the packaging itself. Plus, the bracelet is quite cute no? Keep reading for review & swatches of the brand new Tarte Off the Cuff Amazonian Clay Blush Palette!

 photo TarteAmazonianClayCheekPaletteampBraceletHoliday201302_zpsb7be22ec.jpg

Honestly I didn’t expect to like the exterior of this palette- I assumed it would be scratchy or snag on stuff. But it is actually super cute & comfortable to stash & it also doesn’t scream “I”M A HOLIDAY PALETTE, HEAR ME ROAR!” which is quite nice. The cuff that comes with the palette is actually nice quality, check out my Instagram photo where I’m wearing it! Normally jewelry additions to makeup are throwaways but this one is a well-made keeper.

 photo TarteAmazonianClayCheekPaletteampBraceletHoliday201303_zpsfd0a59f5.jpg

Inside this beauty you have 4 blushes & a bronzer. Normally I highly dislike bronzers being tossed in to fill a slot that could be blush because a solid 90% of the time they are shimmer glitter messes. But Tarte must have gotten the memo because I’ve used their Park Ave Princess Bronzer for years (lightly of course since I’m ghastly ghostly) which is both matte & fantastical. The other 4 shades are indeed blushes (squeeee!) & 3 out of 4 are matte! Yes. Yes Tarte understands that matte blushes are easier to wear most of the time. They finally understand.

 photo TarteAmazonianClayCheekPaletteampBraceletHoliday201304_zps9f35ae0c.jpg

Left to right in this palette we have Crave, Dazzled, Darling, Dollface, & the Park Ave Princess Bronzer.

Crave is such a me shade- coral pink. It has a brightness but it actually really wearable. The corals seem to look really nice on me year round. The only shade that isn’t matte in this palette is Dazzled but it is oh so wearable. In fact, this might even be my favorite shade in this palette! I thought it might fulfill my lust for Benefit Dallas boxed blush. This is a dusty plum with wearable golden shimmer. Darling is a peachy neutral, more colorful than my favorite neutral shade Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. Dollface is a permanent shade & an oh so wearable light but bright pink. I already drooled over the Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer but I again I say woohoo!

 photo TarteAmazonianClayCheekPaletteampBraceletHoliday201305_zpsdcd5bad5.jpg

Swatches left to right- Crave, Dazzled, Darling, Dollface, & the Park Ave Princess Bronzer.

Obviously I’m pretty stinking happy with my purchase. I mean the packaging alone is a subtle glam that isn’t too in your face ka-blam! I was going to pick some of my favorite shades but honestly I love them all. I was suprised that this was a color combination I’ll be able to use year round, even during summer! I always see palettes packed with plums & reds but these are way more wearable options for me personally!

You can purchase the Tarte Off the Cuff Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette & Bracelet for $42 (This is a $110 value!) from Sephora. This is limited edition so snap it up while you can!

What do you think of this palette? Are you a Tarte blush fanatic like me? What are some of your favorite shades?

OPI Sprung + Color Club Williamsburg Easy Fall Nail Art Combo

If you love fall & haven’t tried this kind of nail combo run to your stash right now. I love the way a deep fall blue looks with a rich orange metallic. When orange feels “too intense” (not for me, but apparently for others!) & a dark shade needs some fun…this is the answer. Keep reading to see the results!

If you saw my review of Color Club Williamsburg (see it here! These swatches are most color accurate because it is deeper in person) then you know how much I like this blue. It is dark which can be too vampy for some. OPI Sprung is definitely a fall shade, the metallic orange speaks for itself with the vibrant tones. The stripes are really simple but look a bit fun. End result you have an updated look somewhere in between spunky & one toned. Love it! Also I topped it with some Seche Vite for an overall glossy look which helps make it look more metallic.

What do you think of this manicure? Are there any combos for fall that you love?

Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadows in Metallic Mink & Femme Fatale Swatches & Review

November 7, 2013 By StephanieLouise 265Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fvictorias-secret-metallized-eyeshadows.htmlVictoria%27s+Secret+Metallized+Eyeshadows+in+Metallic+Mink+%26+Femme+Fatale+Swatches+%26+Review2013-11-07+18%3A37%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fvictorias-secret-metallized-eyeshadows-in-metallic-mink-femme-fatale-swatches-review.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

If you can remember back to some of my favorite eyeshadows of all time from Sephora here then you know how absolutely enraged I am that they weren’t made permanent. I came across the Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadows in Metallic Mink & Femme Fatale while cruising their new makeup & swatched them with the testers. Hmmm these seem quite similar to my beloved discontinued formula! Keep reading to see how these stack up!

 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview02_zps4cb11075.jpg

From Victoria’s Secret:
Go for major metallics. This innovative hybrid-texture eye shadow from our VS Makeup collection drenches lids in extraordinary, multi-dimensional color and the hottest metallic finish ever.

TIPS & TRICKS: For a more intense effect, build color on lids. Sweep on a light shade, then layer the same shade or a deeper hue over it.

So the packaging on these is just ok, the lid worries me because it isn’t super sturdy. I like the diamond/quilted type imprint on the eyeshadow (the Sephora eyeshadows were quilted as well!) but that made these a bit hard for me to photograph.

The first photo of the eyeshadow is with flash & the second is in natural, angled lighting. Swatches below.

 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview03_zps707dbaca.jpg
 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview06_zps34ae7df4.jpg

Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow in Femme Fatale- This is a really unique metallic burgundy because you can really see the pink in this while still getting a dose of the cranberry/red shade. You can see this better swatched below.

 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview04_zps2c4994f0.jpg
 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview05_zpsc73c6b44.jpg

Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow in Metallic Mink- A metallic …yeah the name is actually pretty accurate. I like the touch of gold & champagne in this, very pretty neutral & quite wearable for a metallic.

 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview010_zps80b836fe.jpg
 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview07_zps32728856.jpg

The swatches I did for this post aren’t over primer…they aren’t even wet! The two shades I chose are the only ones I can speak for but they are wonderfully pigmented & pretty smooth one applied!

 photo VictoriasSecretMetallizedEyeshadowsSwatchesReview09_zpsa539a69a.jpg

The pigmentation looks the same as the Sephora eyeshadows but the texture is a bit different. While the Sephora shades are ridiculously smooth these have a bit of flakie-ness to them that isn’t disruptive but is noticeable to my comparison.  This isn’t really a deterrent for me & doesn’t have fallout either. Wet I don’t even notice the texture being an issue either. I wear these eyeshadows over a primer (as is my habit, not because they need it) & I don’t notice fading or smudging, especially wet. I’m very impressed.

The shade Femme Fatale is readily available on the Victoria’s Secret site but for some reason I don’t see Metallic Mink. I’ll go out on a limb & say that the shade “Cosmic” very well might be this one renamed but I won’t know until I see it in person. Femme Fatale is a seriously cool shade, I highly suggest checking it out if you dig red/pink type shades! The Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadows retail for $12- $14 depending on the shade apparently so if you’re interested check out Victoria’s Secret for deals which are frequent!

What do you think of these shades? Have you tried the Metallized Eyeshadows from Victoria’s Secret yet?

Tarte Pure Delights 8 Piece LipSurgence Set Review & Swatches- Both Matte & Original!

November 7, 2013 By StephanieLouise 266Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Ftarte-pure-delights-8-piece-lipsurgence.htmlTarte+Pure+Delights+8+Piece+LipSurgence+Set+Review+%26+Swatches-+Both+Matte+%26+Original%212013-11-07+12%3A46%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Ftarte-pure-delights-8-piece-lipsurgence-set-review-swatches-both-matte-original.html

 photo Tarte8PieceLipSurgenceMiniHoliday2013Set01_zps1e81a795.jpg
I bought it. Affiliate links.

I’m completely addicted to jumbo lip pencils & the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint pencils were (from what I can remember…) my first loves.I’ve collected quite a few pencils & I actually like them all. There are a few with a bit too much glitter for day to day but I’ve found a way to wear them all probably because I absolutely love the formula. For reference, none of the shades in this set are “glittery” woo! These pencils retail in a full size for $24 each so I’m always on the lookout for deals. Keep reading to see if this one is for you!

 photo Tarte8PieceLipSurgenceMiniHoliday2013Set03_zps0749cf0e.jpg

These pencils last a really long time in the tube so I wasn’t worried about only having minis. The Tarte Pure Delights 8-Piece LipSurgence set is limited edition for the holidays & contains 8 pencils total- 4 original lips tints & 4 matte lip tints.

 photo Tarte8PieceLipSurgenceMiniHoliday2013Set04_zps0872d5df.jpg

I wanted to give you a visual on how much product you actually get. Here is my full size Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Luster in Escape (a limited edition shade) next to the mini matte shade Glee. The full size contains 0.1 oz while the mini contains 0.06 oz. They contain more than half of a full size which is quite decent! The packaging is also exceptional for a mini, the caps, feel, & twist up is identical to the original so if you like them you’re set.

 photo Tarte8PieceLipSurgenceMiniHoliday2013Set05_zpseeae7646.jpg

If you’re a visual person, check out these two twisted up! I don’t use Escape much which is why I used it to compare (pretty glitzy!) so this is pretty much two untouched pencils.

If you dig peppermint, long lasting color that leave a staining effect, & automatic jumbo lip pencils I think you’lll really like these. They aren’t especially moisturizing for me personally but I do have somewhat dry lips. However, definitely not uncomfortable either! The only different between the two rows below are the matte/original formulas.

 photo Tarte8PieceLipSurgenceMiniHoliday2013SetSwatchesReview02_zpsdbbab754.jpg
 photo Tarte8PieceLipSurgenceMiniHoliday2013SetSwatchesReview01_zpsbe64efcd.jpg

Top row: Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Tints in Lovely, Believe, Grateful, & Enamored.
Bottom row: Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tints in Glee, Generous, Cheerful, & Destined.

So there you have it! I absolutely love this set, a really nice mix of shades that actually lean a bit bolder than a lot of the shades Tarte usually offers. The mini sizes have me tossing them in my handbag more often & will be perfect for clutches this holiday season. How perfect would these be for gifts as well? You could seperate them into 4/2 or give the whole set to a fellow beauty lover.

Tarte Pure Delights 8-Piece LipSurgenceā„¢ Lip Set is available from Sephora for a limited time & retails for $34.

My favorite shades so far have been Believe, Enamored, Glee, & Cheerful! What do you think of this set? Interested in any of the Tarte sets this year?

Plain Jane Beauty Mosaic Palette & Eyeshadows Swatches & Review

November 6, 2013 By StephanieLouise 267Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fplain-jane-beauty-mosaic-palette.htmlPlain+Jane+Beauty+Mosaic+Palette+%26+Eyeshadows+Swatches+%26+Review2013-11-06+14%3A21%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fplain-jane-beauty-mosaic-palette-eyeshadows-swatches-review.html

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview01_zps6a974a47.jpg

PR Sample.

I love nifty palettes where you can move products around. I also love eyeshadows. With those two things out in the open I was really excited to check out Plain Jane Beauty & their eyeshadow situation. Keep reading to see what I think & the 2 quads of colors I have to review!

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview03_zpse2f5208b.jpg

Their setup is a bit different from Urban Decay or even a Z-Palette- they have little Square pegs on the bottom of the eyeshadows that pop into their palette. They call this a “lego” design which is quaite fitting. They also sell blushes, lip colors, & pressed foundations that will fit into these palettes. Some take up more room than others but I think it is a cool idea to mix & match all of your makeup into a handy, small case. The case itself is about as thick as my Samsung S3 (with a thin case on it) & shorter in length.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview02_zps76b8a022.jpg

So basically they sent two sets of 4 eyeshadows-  Jewelry Box & Stormy Skies. I’ll break these down some more below color wise but first let me tell you about the packaging & such. So the pans themselves are round but the connecter-lego type outside is square & the peg on the bottom is a rounded square. My main complaint is that the shade names are labeled with a clear sticker & number. These shades don’t have actual names so the number is very important. Unfortunately to put the product in the palette you have to remove the sticker or have it flail around & fall off. This is a bummer because I won’t know the actual shade numbers to repurchase. Bummer! I also think depotting these to put it in a z-palette would be really difficult, I wish they had the option to buy these just in the pans as well.

Plain Jane Pre-Fix Quad in Jewelry Box- Shades 64,18, 4, & 3

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview04_zps8de26c9f.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #3- Soft mink toned oatmeal. Shimmer.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview05_zps75d8db7b.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #64- Orange base gold. Shimmer.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview07_zpsa4116d54.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #4-Pink flash shimmer.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview06_zpsfa4ccae3.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #18- Rich cranberry. Metallic.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview012_zps2627dab3.jpg
 Left to right: Shades 64,18, 4, & 3
I’ve actually been saving this review for fall because I feel like this quad is definitely fall for me. The two lighter shades are just okay but the pink & cranberry shades are awesome. I love pink shimmer overlay type shades, you can throw this over a darker shade to add the pink shimmer or use as a flashy highlight. The cranberry shade is really pretty & quite metallic.

Plain Jane Pre-Fix Quad in Stormy Skies- Shades 1, 71, 62, & 20

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview011_zps8298d1a1.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #1- Frosty white.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview010_zpsa7f27fe1.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #71- Gunmetal metallic.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview08_zps442c9de3.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #20- Matte black with fine silver shimmer.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview09_zpsbe0dda38.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #62-Metallic silver.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview013_zpsb5069165.jpg
Left to right: Shades 1, 71, 62, & 20

I don’t reach for traditional smoky shades & this one was kind of a disappointment. The shade #71 is actually really beautiful & has quite nice pigmentation. The white & silver were okay but pretty hard. & the black? Yeah for one thing it barely comes off at all & none of the shimmer translates either.

Overall, these shades are quite hard. I had a lot more luck using these damp because they were hard to pick up with my brush on average because I have to keep going back for more product repeatedly. I like the idea of this palette but unfortunately I can’t put the shades I do like into a palette I would reach for more. A few of the shades are quite nice but I’d definitely need to try more, maybe even some brushes, before I give Plain Jane a thumbs up.

What do you think? You can purchase Plain Jane Cosmetics on their website here. Any shades catch your eye?

L’Occitane Shea Hand Care Products Review

November 5, 2013 By StephanieLouise 268Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Floccitane-shea-hand-care-products-review.htmlL%27Occitane+Shea+Hand+Care+Products+Review2013-11-05+18%3A11%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Floccitane-shea-hand-care-products-review.html

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkinMain_zpse87d9d40.jpg
PR Sample. Affiliate links.

My hands are constantly in the public view- mostly you guys!  I am constantly scrubbing pots & pans, using loads of pure acetone, & have eczema to go along with it. Basically my hands aren’t ever where I want them to be smoothness & moisturization-wise. I mean, that’s life right? Sometimes life just happens & it happens to fall into my hands. I have a new not-so-secret weapon to share though- the L’Occitane Shea products. Keep reading to see why you need them in your life!

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin04_zps83e099a1.jpg
 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin05_zpsc3328c97.jpg

Let’s start with the L’Occitane One Minute Hand Scrub since that is step one. You have 3.5 oz of product in a twist top jar & a little plastic spatula to scrape out product. This scrub contains organic sugar & shea oil plus it doesn’t contain parabens, synthetic dyes, or phthalates. This jar is pricey at $22 & you might be calling me crazy but listen up- this is the most moisturizing yet effective hand scrub I’ve used yet! The shea really helps soothe my eczema & nearly cracked areas of my hands while sloughing off the roughness. You don’t need much at all & I’ve been using it about once a week (on Monday mornings to start my week out right!) & have definitely seen a difference. I followup with the next two products.

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin03_zpsf5b98d59.jpg

If you aren’t familiar with L’Occitane then you probably aren’t all that into hand lotion. I am. I have several of these nifty silver tubes throughout my purses/household & have used their lavender lotion before bed for over a year. The L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream is enriched with 20% shea butter & also contains coconut oil & honey + almond extracts. I personally don’t think this blend is for the normal handed folks out there- this is for dry hands. This is a bit thicker & richer than my other L’Occitane lotions & is perfect for the weather coming round the bend. This one takes some rubbing in because it is so thick but it is worth it- you’re left with oober soft hands & no greasy residue.

A completely new to me product is the L’Occitane Cuticle & Nail Cream. From L’Occitane- This cream contains soothing shea butter, anti-oxidizing carrot oil, softening honey, and antibacterial myrrh essential oil. Smooth over cuticles and nails before manicuring, to improve the appearance of hands. I normally use oils on my cuticles but this is actually a thinner lotion texture. I apply this last to target the cuticles & even my nails if they’re bare. I like that the applicator has a fine tip so that if I’m in a hurry I can just swipe it in the general nail area but if I’m taking my time I like to smooth it out with my brush. I’m not sure if I’m totally converted away from my oils but I do like that this doesn’t leave oily residue so it is perfect if I need to slap on gloves this winter or if I’m photographing asap.

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin02_zpsdb73578f.jpg

Overall, the shea line from L’Occitane has really impressed me. I’ve been having loads of allergy issues lately & the shea is a really soothing, calm scent that doesn’t bother me at all. I always like the packaging of L’Occitane products & that I can’t actually read the ingredients. These don’t contain any of the baddies that I try to avoid on my skin so I’m always happy with that!

Have you tried anything from L’Occitane lately? Are you digging the shea line?

Profusion $1 5 Color Eyeshadow Palettes + Eyeshadow Look!

November 5, 2013 By StephanieLouise 270Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fprofusion-1-5-color-eyeshadow-palettes.htmlProfusion+%241+5+Color+Eyeshadow+Palettes+%2B+Eyeshadow+Look%212013-11-05+14%3A14%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fprofusion-1-5-color-eyeshadow-palettes-eyeshadow-look.html

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewmain_zps4e5cf431.jpg

I haven’t raved about a Profusion product in years! Profusion products are very budget friendly & they seem to pop up at my local Walgreens around the holiday season. This year I picked up 3 out of 4 (I went back for the 4th, they’re purples) 5 eyeshadow palettes & I’m super excited to show them to you today including a really easy eyeshadow look!

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview01_zpsacd922c9.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview02_zpsf7db37b3.jpg

Each eyeshadow palette contains 5 eyeshadows that can be used wet or dry, an applicator, & a sliver of a mirror below where the applicator is stored. Not bad packaging for $1 mind you. These palettes are labeled #1 – #4 so that is how I’ll refer to them below. All of these shades are satin/metallic/shimmer- no mattes here!

#2- Cool Toned Neutrals

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview03_zps81c7063b.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview04_zpsd3f81547.jpg

Left to right: Nude, champagne, brownish mink, cool dark brown, & bronze.

Overall these shades are more sheer, lighter, & clearly all neutral. I don’t fall the pigmentation I honestly think these were supposed to be like this. This set is ultra easy to use although the texture isn’t quite as nice on the whole as #3. If you want bold neutrals this won’t be for you.

#3- Fall Perfect Neutrals

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview05_zps1feeda07.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview06_zps220416a4.jpg

Left to right: Soft mink, bronze, softened green, smoky teal, & blue black satin.

This is by far my favorite I’ve bought! This palette is AH-mazing! Check out that easy pigmentation! Original shades & an actually interesting combination of shades. Not a dud here. The only thing missing is a true highlight shade but for $1 I can’t complain one bit!

#4- Colorful Shades

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview07_zps74744ab0.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview08_zps20431bb2.jpg

Left to right: Bright yellow, medium pink, soft aqua, cornflower blue, & bold blue.

This yellow is super surprising, how nice is that right? 3 out of 5 shades are blues so if you dig blues you’ll like this!

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewTutorialEyeLook03_zps01eab74e.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewTutorialEyeLook04_zps04f1af2b.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewTutorialEyeLook05_zpsabec0275.jpg

Here’s my eye look with the Profusion Palette #3 using only these shades except for a matte highlight from my Sonia Kashuk  Eye on Neutral Matte Palette.

Here’s my Monday Quick Hits & Misses with this palette & the awful Matte Top Coat if you want to see this more in person!

Like I said, I picked these up for $1 each at Walgreens…not sure where else these are available! Hope you liked my quick review & swatches…& I loved wearing this eye look out last night!

Beauty that is Work Appropriate from Kate & Almay

I’ve been getting a lot of requests lately for work appropriate makeup/nails/hair/etc. I’ve been compiling some nail polish shades & hairstyles but Kate from Small Things Blog & Almay have you covered on the makeup! Even if you don’t need something “work related” I also think these ideas come into play for a more minimal look for a Sunday brunch or meeting the parents. Would love to hear your thoughts!

PR Sample.

I am all about the texture trend (check out past reviews about the textured Zoyas, OPI, Wet n Wild, etc) & when I heard Sinful Colors was coming out with some of their own I squealed with excitement! The two colors I have to show you today are Treasure Chest & Purple Gleam…& I love them!
The formula on these shades has kind of a lighter texture, not a heavy duty grit. I applied Purple Gleam first & did two sheerer coats (although these are pretty darn opaque!) which covered really nicely. For Treasure Chest I did one thicker coat & found it applied much better than trying to apply it more sheer & it still dried down to a great texture finish.

Sparkle and glimmer this fall with SinfulColors shade collection: Crystal Crushes. It is a brilliant collection of gem-inspired nail polish shades with multifaceted 3D texture. Gorgeous matte colors flecked with a reflective pearl finish sure to dazzle your digits and make your heart skip a beat.  The Crystal Crushes collection features eight vivid shades sprinkled with an angel dust finish.  The colorful trend shades you love from SinfulColors!

Sinful Colors Purple Gleam- A a slightly warm toned lilac that has purple/pink/blue shimmer/sheen that dries down to a matte, textured finish. 2 more sheer coats, no top coat.

Sinful Colors Treasure Chest- A green toned aqua that has a brightness with golden shimmer/sheen that dries down to a matte, textured finish. 1 even coat, no top coat.

* I’ve been wearing SinfulColors Treasure Chest on my nails for 5 days now without any chipping!!!*

These polishes aren’t as glittery/flashy as the Zoya Pixie Dusts but for $2.99 I think they’re quite impressive! I love the shimmer & although they aren’t in your face they are still absolutely lovely. If you don’t love the ultra-textured feel to some of the brands on the market then I think you’d also really like these! They don’t snag on things or get as dirty because they’re less gritty.

Kryolan Cake Eyeliner in Green + My Easy Fall Eye Look

November 2, 2013 By StephanieLouise 273Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fkryolan-cake-eyeliner-in-green-my-easy.htmlKryolan+Cake+Eyeliner+in+Green+%2B+My+Easy+Fall+Eye+Look2013-11-02+13%3A00%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fkryolan-cake-eyeliner-in-green-my-easy-fall-eye-look.html

I picked up this Kryolan Cake Eyeliner awhile back in anticipation of fall. I love green & it seems like the next two months are alllll about the green. If you haven’t used a cake eyeliner before I’ll break it down some more below. Keep reading to see how I’ve been using it!

Basically cake liners look like a shadow but you can use water or a mixing medium on them to create an easy to use liner. I have cake liners in various colors from a few brands but I splurged a bit on Kryolan to test out the quality. First of all, this is a really big pan! Usually my cake liners are smaller than a  MAC eyeshadow but this one contains 3.5 grams & is comparable to a Sugarpill eyeshadow size.

I like using a mixing medium (currently I’m using Ben Nye) to make cake liners last longer. I apply it straight to the back of my hand, dab a bit on a liner brush, then swipe the product itself. You might need a bit of practice to get the formula right but once you do this sucker stays put pretty well! It is much denser than an eyeshadow & I don’t recommend trying to use it as one. I love this used as a base as well, very nice!

I’ve been using it this way lately, just a winged eyeliner look. Simple but a bit more fall & fun. I bought mine from Camera Ready Cosmetics & I will likely be looking into buying more. This brand costs a bit more in the cake liner department but it was really smooth & easy to use.

Have you ever used cake eyeliner? Any favorites?
