PR Sample. I bought it.

I love easy fall nail art! Fall colors are just so rich & fabulous. I wanted to show some really easy nail art & stuff doesn’t get much easier than these random length & width stripes. I picked some fall-ish colors & had to use Sally Hansen Gold Roses as a background. I still just love this color & hate that it is limited edition! If you haven’t seen my swatches of this shade check them out! & without further chatter here are my easy shiny & matte fall brush strokes nail art!
I’ll link the shades I’ve swatched below in case you want to see them on their own! I love all of these shades & the way they came together.

Stripes:

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Malbec
Zoya Nail Polish in Noot
Jesse’s Girl Nail Polish in Peep Toe Pumps
Topcoat:  Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Hardener

& here it is mattified! I used Butter LONDON Matte Finish.

Surprisingly…I totally dig this matte! I think it adds more interest to the stripes since you honestly can’t keep that gorgeous rose gold base shade down, it is vibrantly awesome & truly rose gold no matter what! Love!

I hope you guys enjoyed this, I’ve been trying to come up with some easier nail art (as you guys have requested!) so I hope this was quick & easy! I’d love to see if you try something similar & I think I might try a holiday version later on as well!

Dr. Woods Garden Cucumber Raw Shea Butter Soap Review

November 24, 2013 By StephanieLouise 2451 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fdr-woods-garden-cucumber-raw-shea.htmlDr.+Woods+Garden+Cucumber+Raw+Shea+Butter+Soap+Review2013-11-24+15%3A01%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fdr-woods-garden-cucumber-raw-shea-butter-soap-review.html

PR Sample.

I’m the first to admit I’m not a hardcore bar soap fan. They take more time & honestly more coordination than my poof or sponge early in the morning. I’m lazy & I admit it. Dr. Woods sent me a sample of their Raw Shea Butter Soap in Garden Cucumber & I gave it a shot. Keep reading to see what I thought!
From Dr. Woods:
Our Garden Cucumber Soap with mint leaf exfoliant gently cleans and rejuvenates your skin to a fresh garden glow. Organic shea butter, crushed mint leaves and Vitamin E complement this refreshing fragrance with antioxidants and natural soothing properties that maintain your skin’s health and youthful clarity. Dr. Woods Garden Cucumber Shea Butter Soap utilizes nature’s essential elements to strengthen and refresh your skin.

 photo Dr-Woods-Garden-Cucumber-Raw-Shea-Butter-Soap-Review-02_zps10d05bd7.jpg

This soap comes packaged in a simple cardboard box with lots of facts & writing around the outside. I personally appreciate a nice, recyclable box but this one arrived to me quite beat up. This is a pr sample so that might not be how yours arrives if ordering from the site but I can’t help but point it out since it is clearly visible in my photos.

 photo Dr-Woods-Garden-Cucumber-Raw-Shea-Butter-Soap-Review-04_zps75b3706f.jpg

Let’s just address the main issue I have with this soap: the scent just isn’t for me. At all. I’m not quite sure what garden cucumber is but to me it smells like basic hotel soap. The kind that makes me itchy. Do you know the scent I’m talking about? Flat, hard, cheap soap. Obviously this soap isn’t any of those things (okay, it is a bar of soap so maybe it is hard actually…) but it is hard for me to get past the scent since I’m such a fragrance person. Let me try to look beyond that though okay?

 photo Dr-Woods-Garden-Cucumber-Raw-Shea-Butter-Soap-Review-03_zps6c847eee.jpg

This soap is all natural, contains no animal ingredients, no artificial colors, cruelty free, sulfate free, & paraben free. All of those things are very good attributes to have! Raw shea butter is one of those ingredients that is so “in” right now because it penetrates even dry skin & already naturally contains vitamins A & E. You’re likely to find shea butter (but not always in its raw form which is even better) in soaps & lotions. My skin rather likes shea butter in general. I have dry skin so it soaks it right up!

 photo Dr-Woods-Garden-Cucumber-Raw-Shea-Butter-Soap-Review-05_zps69e4547c.jpg

The Dr. Woods Garden Cucumber Raw Shea Butter Soap is triple milled & contains crushed mint leaves to exfoliate gently. If you have sensitive skin, I think this would be a nice option while I usually use something a bit more scrubbing. I think the printing on the bottom is cute, it says “All Things Good” which is clearly what this company strives for.

While the scent isn’t for me I can appreciate the fact that it is both gluten free & 100% vegan, two things you can’t always find in soaps. I also like that the Dr. Woods brand is available at many convenient retailers which I had never noticed like Walmart, Walgreens, Vitacost, & even Sears! The retail price seems to be around $4.50 which isn’t nearly as expensive as many other natural brands I’ve gotten my hands on. I’d definitely be interested in trying some more products in varying scents!

Beauty Box 5 for November 2013 featuring Aveeno, Secret, & More!

November 20, 2013 By StephanieLouise 246Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fbeauty-box-5-for-november-2013.htmlBeauty+Box+5+for+November+2013+featuring+Aveeno%2C+Secret%2C+%26+More%212013-11-20+15%3A27%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fbeauty-box-5-for-november-2013-featuring-aveeno-secret-more.html

Beauty Box 5 has arrived on my doorstep & I’m excited to show you what is inside this month! There is a great value in this box for me personally which is what I usually look for from a beauty subscription. There are also some new to me products as well as standby favorites, keep reading to see what’s inside!

 photo BeautyBox5forNovember2013ReviewSwatchesPhoto03_zpsf8126e81.jpg

First let’s look at the info card & deals inside! This box is themed round adventure & getting prepped for a night out. I think the theme is fitting with the items I received…who doesn’t wear deodorant for a night on the town right? The most exciting part of the paperwork with this box is the 25% off your entire order from Travalo (I love these things, check out why I consider them a must have!) with code BB5 & an awesome coupon booklet that includes a free deodorant & multiple other coupons of nice value. Sweet! The deodorant itself says it can cost up to $8.49 each so that pays for the box itself already!

 photo BeautyBox5forNovember2013ReviewSwatchesPhoto02_zps383dc1fa.jpg

Now onto the contents! I received 5 products this month from various categories, some new to me & some I’ve gotten before.

Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash- I reviewed the full size of this body wash here & my stance stands strong. Calming, leaves my skin clean & smooth, doesn’t dry out my already dry skin… Plus it is just really relaxing overall.

Montagne Jeunesse Glacial Cooling Face Mask- I’m a bit at a loss over this one…who needs a cooling mask when it is 30 degrees out? Anyway this is a “mud-infused fabric mask” that you’re supposd to unfold onto your skin for 10-15 minutes. I’ve never heard of “Glacial Clay” or “Arctic Cloudberry” but apparently they’re from the “glacial heights of Scandinavia”. I’m intrigued but also freezing my tushie off so I’ll wait until I see the sun again to use this mask…since it goes from freezing to unbearably humid here.

Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant & Deodorant- Obviously I’m thrilled about this. I doubt other people get all excited about deodorant but I love getting something I know I’ll love & I’ve been using a similar product. This is a full size & it smells like a clean neutral, kind of like a fabric softener. I like that! I’m sure I’ll let you know about my end thoughts in an empties video but so far I’m quite happy! & I have a coupon for another one so maybe I’ll try out the gel version? Anyone have a preference?

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Nail Polish Remover Wipes- If memory serves I think seen/used these before but I’m not honestly sure from where… I like samples like this here & there but they aren’t my favorites. I save these to throw into my purse when I’m traveling but since I often where glitter polish (because I’m freaking snazzy that’s why!) these can be really hard to use on the go. I’ll let you know after I use them again!

 photo BeautyBox5forNovember2013ReviewSwatchesPhoto04_zps44c4ebf9.jpg
 photo BeautyBox5forNovember2013ReviewSwatchesPhoto05_zps9bf121d6.jpg

Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder- This sealed little puppy had me so excited, something perfect for the holidays! This is a full sized shimmer powder from Bellapierre Cosmetics aptly named “Tin Man” which I can’t help but totally dig. Ha. I love me some Oz ya’ll. Anyway this shade is beautiful & I made sure to show swatches of the color really sheered out & slightly damp. I lov foiling pigments to make them all Bam Pop Wow metallic & this one will be perfect for the holidays right? I think this would be absolutely gorgeous used as a liner too, so chic!

You can subscribe to Beauty Box 5 monthly for $12 a month, $30 for 3 months ($10 a month), or even $99 a year (only $8.25 a month!) which is a pretty darn good set of options if you ask me! You receive 5 samples monthly & it has helped to introduce me to lots of new brands to play with!

So in the end I have one makeup item, bath item, body item, nail item, & a skincare item. They’ve don’t such an amazing job at varying topics I swear. So many beauty subscriptions just don’t find that balance but Beauty Box 5 totally has it down.

What do you think of this month’s box? What did you receive? Would love to see it!

Lancome Holiday Beauty Collection 2013 Set in Dramatic Swatches, Review, & Video

November 19, 2013 By StephanieLouise 247Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Flancome-holiday-beauty-collection-2013.htmlLancome+Holiday+Beauty+Collection+2013+Set+in+Dramatic+Swatches%2C+Review%2C+%26+Video2013-11-19+20%3A08%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Flancome-holiday-beauty-collection-2013-set-in-dramatic-swatches-review-video.html

When people ask what makeup brand I remember most from my childhood I always have two answers- Lancome & Wet n Wild. Lancome might seem odd but it is flowing through my beauty loving soul thanks to my mother. She is an avid user of Lancome to this day & playing with her products that were so fancy to me was always an awesome experience…whether she knew it about it or not. I always keep an eye out this time of year because you can usually score an amazing deal. The Lancome Holiday Beauty Collection for 2013 has two options: either the Classic Collection or Dramatic Collection. Today I’ll be showing you the Lancome Dramatic Collection which retails for $59.50 & has a $315 value!

First let me share with you my fist impression/haul type video. In this video you can see what the box looks like & what I thought about the bag these items are stored in. I honestly couldn’t get a decent picture of the bag because it is awkward & has red satin inside. Not my favorite bag but again, I didn’t buy it for the bag!
 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo02_zps78463e70.jpg

Lancome Limited Edition Holiday Beauty Collection Kit in “Dramatic” includes-

The Lancome Makeup Bag
Lancome La Base Pro (Deluxe Sample)
Lancome Genifique (Deluxe Sample)
Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover
Lancome Liner Brush
Lancome All Over Shadow Brush
Lancome Le Crayon Kohl Eyeliner in Black Ebony
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara
Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Fresque
Lancome Juicy Tube in Miracle
Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Drama
Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Off the Rack
Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Clock Strikes Twelve
Lancome Color Design Metallic Lipstick in Fashion Icon
Lancome Color Design Cream Lipstick in Love It

Inside we have 12 full sized items & 2 deluxe samples. I figured the easiest way to let you know what I think was to break this down into topics which I’ve put in bold below: Tools/Skincare, Eyes, Cheeks, & Lips.

Tools & Skincare-

 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo03_zpsf560b056.jpg

Lancome La Base Pro (Deluxe Sample)- When it comes to flawless face makeup I find primers to be a must. This particular primer contains dimethicone which does break out/clog some pores but luckily not mine. This was a really nice deluxe sample, about the size of a Lancome Deluxe Juicy tube. It helped my foundation apply much smoother & lasted throughout the day.

Lancome Genifique (Deluxe Sample)- This is a sample that I absolutely love. I’m a serum gal big time, they are necessary with my dry skin especially during colder months. Obviously I’m not too up there in years yet but I did actually notice the brightening type affect which I wasn’t getting with my prior serum. I’ve been living off samples because 1 fl oz is $82 which is just plain depressing. This sample (the the others I’ve hoarded) are 0.27 fl oz which is an excellent value & the packaging with the dropper is quite nice as well!

Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover– This is a product I’ve been using practically since birth. For me personally, it isn’t holy grail but I do quite like it. I constantly have bottles floating around to touch up my undereyes or eyeliner. Sometimes this can mess with the eczema around my eyes a bit so I have been reaching for my Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil which I reviewed recently. If you don’t have dryness I think you’d really like this. This is a full size which is worth a solid $28.

Lancome Liner Brush & Lancome All Over Shadow Brush- I didn’t find these on the site so they might be exclusive to this set? They’re very basic brushes & although they don’t feel all that luxe they’re useable. For me personally the All Over Shadow Brush is a bit rough & I’ll probably use the liner brush to place shadow under my eyes.

Eyes-

 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo04_zpseb284c6a.jpg
 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo09_zps06b6dd7f.jpg

Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara– If you haven’t tried this mascara I highly recommend it! This is a full size & goes on a nice shade of black. The brush/wand is really different & I didn’t think I’d like it but it provides nice volume & length while somehow not flaking which I tend to have a problem with. The S shape brush really works!

Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Drama– A violet with a blue sheen. Very pretty & I had actually almost purchased this awhile ago so I saved some money! This isn’t a crazy unique color to my collection but I really like it on my eye color & it applies nicely.

Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Off the Rack– This is a metallic very light pink. Much more opaque wet. Not really a shade I would have chosen for myself but it looks more peachy on my eyes which makes it a lot more wearable.

Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Clock Strikes Twelve– This is probably my least favorite shade because it says it is a matte but it has some silver shimmer & the pigmentation just isn’t there. I’ll be using it to darken up my outer crease here & there I think.

Lancome Le Crayon Kohl Eyeliner in Black- Not sure why this one has a different name online but it is basically a dark grey or a not very pigmented black. Whichever. This is a pencil that lasts ages but not always on my eye. I don’t reach for these often & really wish they had included something more fun like blue or purple. Not my favorite. (swatch below next to blush)

Cheeks-

 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo07_zps8241689f.jpg
 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo08_zps5eea37e5.jpg
 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo010_zpsa5261fab.jpg

Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Fresque– I really love that the blush they included was matte, so much more versatile so I’ll likely wear it more often during the holidays when my eyes or lips are bold. This is a matte dusty rose & also full size. Application is easy & these wear quite nicely on me.

Lips–

 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo05_zpsfaaa2c72.jpg
 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo06_zpsc54b8af2.jpg
 photo LancomeHoliday2013DramaticSetReviewSwatchesVideo011_zpsdf6ec91c.jpg

Lancome Color Design Metallic Lipstick in Fashion Icon– This is one I am still trying to figure out if I like or not because I so rarely reach for metallic lipsticks. This is described as a berry/plum metallic but sometimes it looks a bit brownish to me. Still deciding!

Lancome Color Design Cream Lipstick in Love It– This is one of the main reasons I bought this kit- Love It is one of my favorite shades of all time. It is one of the only lipsticks I’ve ever finished & this ultra creamy, dusty pink is totally a me shade.

Lancome Juicy Tube in Miracle– I’ve been wearing Juicy Tubes since middle school so they hold a special place in my heart. The shade Miracle is a sheer pink with icy sparkle.

Although I now buy from tons of different brands, Lancome holds a special place in my heart as my first high-end purchase with my own money from a makeup brand. I bought myself a full sized Lancome Juicy Tube, oh sweet memories. I think Lancome products still have that sense of luxe mommy makeup to me & I can’t help but think back to the good ol days. This is a lovely set & if you use any of these products or have been wanting to try some, you’ll likely get a bunch of stuff for free because the price is so low. My favorites from this set are the Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara, Lancome Genifique, Lancome Blush in Rose Fresque, & of course the Lancome Color Design Lipstick in Love It.

I personally bought my set from the military BX but this is available on the Lancome website for $59.50 when you purchase anything else on their site.

Thoughts on this set? Anything catch your eye? What brands are catching your eye this holiday season?

Lorac Rockin’ Red Hot 3D Liquid Lustre Set Review, Swatches, & Demo

I love me so shimmer. I love glitz, dramatic makeup, subdued glamor, I love it all.I currently own the Lorac Lustre Drops in Gold & absolutely love it. I use it on my eyes & even sometimes in the center of my lip or on my cheek bones. perfect multitasking gold year round but especially during the holiday season! When I saw Lorac was offering the Lorac Rockin’ Red Hot 3D Liquid Lustre Set containing 4 new to me (one shade is permanent while the other 3 are limited edition) for a fraction of the price I was thrilled! Keep reading to see what I thought!

From Lorac-
Amp up your look with LORAC’s Rockin’ Red Hot 3D Liquid Lustre Set! Featuring our original, best-selling Diamond shade (white gold) plus 3 limited edition shades in Platinum (silver), Amethyst (taupe), and Topaz (warm bronze). This paraben-free, long-lasting, shimmering top coat can be applied over eye shadow or worn alone on eyes and cheeks for luminous, prismatic, 3-Dimensional sparkle and shine. Refuse to be 1-Dimensional and go 3D with LORAC!

Basically I wanted this because I was planning to buy the Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Drops in Diamond anyway, why not pick up 3 more shades for a few bucks? The shades in Platinum, Amethyst, & Topaz are limited edition & absolutely lovely. I like that these are wearable shades because I can snaz up a neutral look simply. As much as I love blue/pink shimmer I find that those two shades are quite common as top coats while these are obviously more classic.

 photo Lorac3DLustreliquidDropsRockinRedHotHoliday2013SetDiamondPlatinumAmethystTopazReviewSwatches04_zps762d45ed.jpg

The packaging on these is actually glass & the top is a dropper. You can see the shade names on the bottom. It feels very sturdy & I honestly can’t imagine a better way to store or use this particular product.

 photo Lorac3DLustreliquidDropsRockinRedHotHoliday2013SetDiamondPlatinumAmethystTopazReviewSwatches06_zpsa201451b.jpg

Before shaking, you can see the beautiful shimmer settles. You need to shake it. Seriously.

Here’s a video tutorial/get ready with me using my Lorac Pro to Go Palette (check out this eye look & blog review here) & I actually use a bit of Amethyst. You can see how you have to shake up & mix up the bottle & dropper before using it. This is very important! If you don’t I find it quite hard to use.

In the video that is the most common way I use the Lorac Lustre Drops but you can also use them with a brush, on its own, or as a highlight although that isn’t my favorite. I personally like to apply it to the back of my hand but obviously you can put it on something else if you prefer. They dry quite fast on the eyelids when you gently pat them in but do let them dry. I don’t have issues with creasing but less is more. If you want more shimmer, layer it & don’t just flood your poor eyelid.

 photo Lorac3DLustreliquidDropsRockinRedHotHoliday2013SetDiamondPlatinumAmethystTopazReviewSwatches07_zps3592153b.jpg

Lorac Lustre Drops in Diamond- Adds an iridescent sparkle & a fine golden shimmer. This is lovely over pretty much any eyeshadow & is very versatile. You can buy this shade on its own here.

 photo Lorac3DLustreliquidDropsRockinRedHotHoliday2013SetDiamondPlatinumAmethystTopazReviewSwatches08_zps47b38138.jpg

Lorac Lustre Drops in Platinum- Very metallic & kind of a gunmetal silver. More pigmented. Limited edition at this time & only available in this set.

 photo Lorac3DLustreliquidDropsRockinRedHotHoliday2013SetDiamondPlatinumAmethystTopazReviewSwatches09_zps208f7bba.jpg

Lorac Lustre Drops in Amethyst- A grey/purple/brown type taupe but not as pigmented & more demure. Limited edition at this time & only available in this set.

 photo Lorac3DLustreliquidDropsRockinRedHotHoliday2013SetDiamondPlatinumAmethystTopazReviewSwatches010_zps831aecc5.jpg

Lorac Lustre Drops in Topaz- A copper & bronze shimmer. Perfect to amp up a neutral eye & really catches the light. More pigmented. Limited edition at this time & only available in this set.

From left to right we have Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Drops in Diamond, Platinum, Amethyst, & Topaz.

Obviously they are more spectacular (at least in my opinion) over eyeshadow or a base of some kind. They draw in & reflect light so beautifully & add a bit of dimension. I hope they make at least a few of these shades part of their permanent collection! If they come out with more next year I’d love to see an emerald, cranberry, & maybe even some kind of holo. Wouldn’t that be fantabulous?

This set retails for $28 but it worth $64 & I just couldn’t pass it up. I actually purchased mine off Amazon with free shipping which is super handy but they’re also available on the Lorac website. I haven’t seen these available in stores but they are on the ULTA website now & labeled as online only.

Have you tried any of the Lorac Lustre Drops? What do you think of this set?

Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil Review & How I Use It!

November 18, 2013 By StephanieLouise 249Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fsephora-supreme-cleansing-oil-review.htmlSephora+Supreme+Cleansing+Oil+Review+%26+How+I+Use+It%212013-11-18+18%3A26%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fsephora-supreme-cleansing-oil-review-how-i-use-it.html

 photo SephoraCleanseOffOilReview01_zps5bba67ee.jpg
I bought it. Affiliate links.

Let’s start this post with a confession shall we? The Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil almost a total fail which would have totally been my fault! Normally I try not to broadcast my minor but very silly mistakes but just in case anyone out there did the same thing I wanted you to know you’re NOT alone! When used correctly, this product is incredible. Keep reading to hear my overall thoughts!

From the Sephora website:
What it is:
A gentle makeup remover suitable for all skin types.

What it is formulated to do:
Remove every trace of even the most resistant makeup with this soap-free formula. There’s no need for cotton pads—simply pump into the hands and rub onto dry skin. Add water to change the oil into smooth lotion. Effective yet gentle, this cleansing oil is suitable for sensitive skin and leaves the face soft and perfectly cleansed, without an oily film.

So first let me explain how to use this: Pump into hand. Apply to DRY skin. Rub in with fingers, especially in the heavy makeup areas like eyes. Apply water with hands which transforms product into a lotion. Wash clean.

When I first bought this I tried to use it like a regular oil…which totally didn’t work. This seriously needs the water to activate it because without it I was extremely disappointed & found it useless. That is what I get for thinking I know more than the back of the bottle though right? Note: You are never too good to read the darn bottle. Lesson learned.

From the reviews I’ve read on blogs & the Sephora website there are very mixed views. A lot of people had issues with this product leaving some kind of film on their face. While I personally didn’t experience this I am not shocked. Here is my tip: Use this as a makeup remover, not as your only cleanser. I appreciate the fact that this gets off my long wear foundations, waterproof makeup, & other things I absolutely hate removing in a snap without drying or irritating my skin. I then follow up with my normal cleansing routine, normally my Clarisonic & my nighttime cleanser. This doesn’t leave residue on my skin after it is rinsed away, doesn’t leave my combo/dry skin feeling any more dry or tight, & it is also formulated without parabens, sulfates, or synthetic dyes.

I feel like you have to make up your own mind about this product but using it my own way I am extremely happy with it. I barely need to use any of the oil to remove my entire face at night so the 6.4 fl oz will last me quite awhile. The $15 price tag had me wary but intrigued & now I think it is worth every penny. I highly recommend using less than you think & using the pump slowly since it can get a tad messy & you don’t want to waste it either. This is also a fraction of the price as many other high end cleansing oils & works the same & in some cases much better than other brands I have tried.

You can purchase the Sephora Supreme Cleansing Oil for $15 from the Sephora website & in Sephora stores.

Color Club Blue & Gray Fall 2013 Glittered Abstract Feathers Nail Art

I bought it. PR Sample.

I wanted to create some nail art using the new Color Club Fall 2013 shades I reviewed here. This is what I came up with! Check out what I used & more photos below!

 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter05_zps58e6a39e.jpg

Base color is Coor Club Silver Lake & feathers are Color Club Williamsburg (full review on both of these Fall 2013 shades here). I added a tough of gray to darken up the centers a bit with Color Club Muse-Ical. The glitter is Color Club Magic Attraction which I’ve had for ages.

This manicure was absolutely inspired by @thary_xoxo on Instagram. I pinned this photo (see it here!) ages ago but I thought I’d try more of a watercolor type feel since I wanted to use grays & blue. I think the glitter adds pizazz (duh, glitter!) but I think the pink/holo is also a nice accent without being too crazy. I topped it with Color Club top coat as well.

 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter07_zps099987a6.jpg

It doesn’t look nearly as “feathery” this close up but further away it looked pretty cool! 🙂

I really like it! I think it is really pretty & although most of these shades are fall releases I think it would be pretty for winter too. What do you think? Have you done any feather inspired nail art? I’d love to see it!

Kushyfoot Fleece Trouser Socks & Flats to Go Review

November 16, 2013 By StephanieLouise 251Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fkushyfoot-fleece-trouser-socks-flats-to.htmlKushyfoot+Fleece+Trouser+Socks+%26+Flats+to+Go+Review2013-11-16+21%3A42%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fkushyfoot-fleece-trouser-socks-flats-to-go-review.html

I was excited to try out some new footwear for fall/winter since we actually get snow here. Kushyfoot sent me one pair of their Fleece Trouser Socks & a pair of their Fleecy Leopard Flats to Go. Keep reading to see if these might be perfect for you or to give as a gift this chilly season.
Honestly I liked one pair & didn’t so much like the other. Sad face. But first let’s talk about the product I really do like!

 photo KushyfootSocksampFlatstoGoReview03_zps04ab0bfb.jpg

From Kushyfoot- Ultra soft fleece tights give you total opaque coverage so you can brave even the coldest of days. Perfect to wear under your favorite boots!

I think these tight/socks hybrid are a really cool idea. On the outside you see opaque black tights (only to below the knee) but on the inside there is a thin layer of very soft fleece. I really like that they look professional on the outside & don’t great odd bulges if you wanted to wear them under skinny jeans or slacks. They aren’t thick so they didn’t make my shoes feel tight. All in all, a well thought out product perfect if your feet get a bit chilly during cooler months.

 photo KushyfootSocksampFlatstoGoReview02_zpse4efe86b.jpg

From Kushyfoot- Fleecy leopard Flats to Go® are the newest addition to our Fall 2012/Winter 2013 collection. These lightweight and ultra portable flats have a soft sole which allows them to be rolled up or folded so that you can tote them in your purse ready for any potential shoe emergency. Designed for indoor use and occasionally on smooth outdoor surfaces. Great for travel too!

For me these just weren’t what I was expecting. For one thing, I got the 8-10 because I normally wear around an 8 1/2 & they’re way too big. The elastic on the heel feels really flimsy & doesn’t always stay on my foot. Bummer. My biggest complaint is that I would assume these would be flats I could throw on when my heels start hurting but you can only use them “occasionally on smooth outdoor surfaces”. So basically they’re house slippers? The bow on the top makes them look more like slippers as well, not something I’d rock in an office environment.

My biggest worry is that the material on the bottom is SO thin that they feel like they might break any minute. In fact they’re so thin that I could feel the cold concrete (a flat, even outdoor surface mind you) & yikes was that a shock to my system. No wonder they don’t want me wearing these slipper socks outside! It is nice they come with a case & they are indeed thin but I don’t think I have a use for them personally. If I’m going to rock slippers I’ll wear slipper socks inside & wear something with some kind of sole to take the dogs out if need be. Plus. Again. They didn’t really stay on my feet anyway. I think I’ll keep them in the trunk of my car in case I desperately need to change shoes or don’t want to drive in heels. Then again…I could also throw some cute flats in the back of my car & not feel like I’m wearing cheap slippers.

You can purchase both of these items from the Kushyfoot website here.

What do you think of these products? What kind of socks do you wear with your boots or pull out in the cooler months?

Lorac Pro to Go Palette Review + Swatches + Eyeshadow Tutorial

November 16, 2013 By StephanieLouise 252Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Florac-pro-to-go-palette-review-swatches.htmlLorac+Pro+to+Go+Palette+Review+%2B+Swatches+%2B+Eyeshadow+Tutorial2013-11-16+15%3A22%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Florac-pro-to-go-palette-review-swatches-eyeshadow-tutorial.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

When it comes to a quick & easy eyeshadow look, palettes are unrivaled. I mean, everything you need eyeshadow-wise in one very convenient cube? Well, Lorac took it a step further (because they’re boss) & added 2 blushes, a bronzer, & a truly unique palette design. Keep reading to see my review, my eyeshadow look with video tutorial, & my overall thoughts of the Lorac Pro to Go Palette!

 photo LoracProtoGoPalettepackagingFolds01_zps193f3036.jpg

The packaging itself is simple & very Lorac. With packaging that is identical in feel & look to the Lorac Pro original palette you’ll notice this palette folds & unfolds at different angles. How cool is that? Have it open all at one or just use it one side at a time, perfect if you’re on the go!

 photo LoracProtoGoReviewSwatchesEyeLook01_zps4c9af117.jpg

Inside from left to right we have the nice sized mirror, 6 eyeshadows, 2 blushes & a bronzer, & 2 travel sized brushes total. Obviously this isn’t everything I’d use to get ready (mascara, lips, etc.) but that is completely okay with me! I actually very rarely use lip products in palettes, I prefer having a single to throw in my bag like a gloss or lipstick for touchups. I feel like this palette is the perfect balance of powder products & shades that I would actually choose to travel with.

 photo LoracProtoGoPaletteSwatchesampReview09_zps74009e80.jpg

So for face products you have 2 blushes & a bronzer. For blush you get Coral (which has some golden shimmer), Pink, & Bronze. Both Pink & Bronze are matte & I particularly like Pink as a base blush with a tad of Coral popped higher on my cheek for a bit of highlighting.

 photo LoracProtoGoPaletteSwatchesBlushampEyeshadow01_zpsfa7e435f.jpg
 photo LoracProtoGoPaletteSwatchesBlushampEyeshadow012_zps59cf7609.jpg

Left to right: Coral, Pink, & Bronze.

I’m extremely fair so Bronze looks a bit more orange on my hand but looks lovely & natural on my face when I use it for contouring lightly.Like i said I think the blushes are beautiful layered but also very pretty used on their own. For my personal coloring I find these shades really flattering. hese are also very pigmented, easy to blend, & have a nice wear time.

 photo LoracProtoGoPaletteSwatchesampReview010_zps5a8107f3.jpg

Eye products are some of my favorite & I really do love these! Inside this palette you receive 6 shades in Pearl, Chai, Mink, Shell, Cafe, & Black. You’ll notice the two lightest shades in Pearl & Shell are substantially larger. I’ve been kind of confused by the reviews I’ve seen because everyone says the top row s shimmer & the bottom row is matte (like the original Lorac Pro palette). This isn’t true. I’ll explain more below!

 photo LoracProtoGoPaletteSwatchesBlushampEyeshadow014_zps0f3d0d41.jpg
 photo LoracProtoGoPaletteSwatchesBlushampEyeshadow013_zpsa231fd6c.jpg

Top row left to right: Pearl (off-white shimmer), Chai (metallic bronze), Mink (cool toned grey/brown taupe with golden bronze shimmer).
Bottom row left to right: Shell (pale cream satin), Cafe (matte medium brown with silver shimmer), Black (matte black).

I think all of these shades are really beautiful: great pigmentation, easy to blend, soft which I prefer. You just touch your brush to them & apply, no swirling needed. I love that you get more of the two lightest shades since I use those the most. I like them both as base shades, highlight, inner corner, & even as face highlighter in a pinch. Black is the only repeated shade from the Lorac Palette which is just fine with me. I love this formula for a black & you can use it as an eyeshadow, to create depth, & even as eyeliner or to soften out harsh eyeliner. Chai & Cafe both do a great job filling the brown/bronze category with Chai being metallic & Cafe looking matte but not flat on the eye. Mink is my personal favorite, I absolutely love this shade. Blended out for daytime or used with a heavier hand for a smoky eye I find it really striking!

So I did a Get Ready with Me video for this look & I really want to start doing more of these because I think they’re fun. I really like how this turned out. Please do remember to subscribe on youtube, I do a lot of videos over there you won’t see here!

Not that I did use a little bit of the new LE Lorac Luster Drops in Amethyst (see more the video).

 photo LoracProtoGoReviewSwatchesEyeLookPinterest01_zpse60dd679.jpg

Overall I’m really happy with my purchase &can see myself traveling with this palette this season. This would be perfect for a weekend away or even a honeymoon or beach vacation. I really love the construction & the color choices were smart. I’m a happy consumer.

Have you tried the Lorac Pro Palette yet? What do you think? Are these shades you’d frequently use?
