Jane Cosmetics Eyeshadows in River Rock & Juniper Review, Swatches, & Eye Look

December 10, 2013 By StephanieLouise 224Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fjane-cosmetics-eyeshadows-in-river-rock.htmlJane+Cosmetics+Eyeshadows+in+River+Rock+%26+Juniper+Review%2C+Swatches%2C+%26+Eye+Look2013-12-10+17%3A53%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fjane-cosmetics-eyeshadows-in-river-rock-juniper-review-swatches-eye-look.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

Jane has been completely redone & I had to check it out. I found these eyeshadows at my local ULTA store (you can see them online here) but you can also see them on the Jane website. I used Jane all through middle school so I was really excited about the revamp. The prices are much higher than they used to be but the quality has also changed! Keep reading to see my thoughts on the Jane Eyeshadows in River Rock & Juniper & how I used them!

 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock01_zpsf91d47fa.jpg
 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock02_zpsfe32eae8.jpg
 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock03_zps2abbfd61.jpg

Lets start with packaging! These eyeshadows do come sealed (yay!) & have basic black packaging with peek windows on top along with the Jane name. On the back we have the shade name, barcode, & product basics. You receive 2.5 grams per container. These are also labeled on back as Shimmer or Matte or whathaveyou so if you have a hard time telling in the store or online it is an easy indicator. The shades themselves have a beautiful floral imprint, nice touch.

 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock04_zps2077856d.jpg

On the left is Juniper which is a smokey slightly blackened shimmering blue/green. Very much a peacock or sultry mermaid shade. River Rock was an easy shade choice because it is a shimmering silver based taupe. Taupe people, I’m all about the taupe.

 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock05_zpsf8cd946c.jpg photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock06_zpsa4466ca2.jpg
Left to right: Jane Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Juniper & River Rock.

These swatched effortlessly & without fallout. They are both quite buttery without being too soft. Both are swatched without primer. The first photo is regular swatches & the second is with flash so you can see the blue/green shimmer really pop as it does when the light hits it.

 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock003_zps6dc41b86.jpg

For the eye look I did use primer (I just usually do) & did something basic. If you’re wondering about what’s on my lips, brows, face, or eyeliner I’ll be posting about them later on today! I used River Rock as a singular eyelid shade & then blended with a neutral shade as a matte highlight at the browbone. I lined my eyes with a black eyeliner then topped it off with Juniper for a smokey pop of color.

 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock09_zpsb5f41427.jpg
 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock011_zps0c8571e5.jpg

I’m really happy with this look & it was super easy to create! I think it is simple but very pretty & flattering for day or night. I think adding Juniper this way to a day look really takes it to night with ease as well.

 photo JaneEyeshadowSwatchesReviewTutorialinJuniperampRiverRock010_zps34df4ae1.jpg

They have lots of colors in this line ranging from mattes to shimmers to metallics. Lots of color options! I opted for two shimmers because I just loved the colors & I’ll probably be picking up some more. I have been using matte shades out of palettes so that’s why I went with some new shimmers. The pricing is quite steep for a drugstore sided eyeshadow at $8 each. I only picked them up because they were on sale 2 for $10 at ULTA & you can also use the ULTA coupons on them.

What do you think of the look I created? Are these eyeshadows you’d be drawn to? Have you tried anything from Jane that I need to seek out next time?

PR Sample.

If you caught my post called My Top 10 Random Gifting Guide for Holiday 2013 + Giveaway! then you probably got all excited about the Get Fresh products I’ve been prepping to review! I have two sets to show- both of them are amazing gift ideas for year round. I think these hold a special place in my heart because they donate a portion of their proceeds to Military charities that help Wounded Warriors transition successfully back into civilian life. Keep reading to see my thoughts on the Get Fresh Look Better Naked body set in Grapefruit & the Get Fresh Warrior Princess Foot Kit in Blackberry Vanilla & an awesome discount code!
About Get Fresh-

 photo GetFreshSpaGrapefruitLookBetterNaked3StepBodySet01_zps77fac42a.jpg
 photo GetFreshSpaGrapefruitLookBetterNaked3StepBodySet02_zps07d59a47.jpg

First let’s talk about the Get Fresh Look Better Naked body set in Grapefruit. You get three products inside an adorable (& definitely reusable!) drawstring bag. The bag itself is super cute & made of kind of a washcloth fabric on the outside & that waterproof bright blue fabric on the inside. It feels nice & durable & has the the words “look better naked” printed on the outside. So cute!

 photo GetFreshSpaGrapefruitLookBetterNaked3StepBodySet03_zps00fbf626.jpg
 photo GetFreshSpaGrapefruitLookBetterNaked3StepBodySet04_zps2a3e0632.jpg

Inside you have three body products- mineral body scrub, body mask, & rich body creme. I love the grapefruit scent for a full body care kit, it is so invigorating & smells so cleanly feminine to me. This set is meant to exfoliate then detoxify then moisturize dull, dry skin. Yes, so perfect for this time of year! The scrub is wonderfully creamy & dreamy but also probably about a medium exfoliation. It isn’t too rough but definitely noticeable. I haven’t used a body mask in absolutely ages so this was a total treat! After the shower I used the body creme which is very rich & sinks into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Love this set!

 photo GetFreshWarriorPrincessBlackberryVanillaFootPedicureSet01_zpsfeef0118.jpg photo GetFreshWarriorPrincessBlackberryVanillaFootPedicureSet02_zps385c7d1f.jpg
 photo GetFreshWarriorPrincessBlackberryVanillaFootPedicureSet03_zps61a9fa7f.jpg

Next we have the Get Fresh Warrior Princess Foot Kit in Blackberry Vanilla which comes in a super cute case! I love that both of the “packaging” on these sets are reusable, waste not! You can read about the donation information (this is a photo of the included tag) which is nice to remember. The size of this set is larger than a pencil case in case you were wondering, I know sometimes it is hard to tell! Each tub is 2 oz.

 photo GetFreshWarriorPrincessBlackberryVanillaFootPedicureSet04_zps17afb5d4.jpg

I was nervous about this scent because some vanilla scents are quite artificial but this is fantastic. I absolutely love the somehow sexy but also calming scent combination! This pedicure kit has a sugar foot scrub, intensive cream, & a moisturizing cream. Pictured above you also get a pumice stone! Ah, I am so thrilled with this scent, completely unexpected for a pedicure set!

I hope you found this post helpful, I loved these items & wanted to make sure you knew that while holiday shopping! Speaking of shopping, the great people at Get Fresh have given my readers a 20% off code! Just use code STEPHANIE upon checkout! That’s an awesome value! If you’re opting to give these as gifts don’t forget to talk to the recipient about the awesome charity work Get Fresh does. I always love hearing about that when I get gifts! Obviously this would make a great self-gift too! 😉

Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette Review & Swatches

December 9, 2013 By StephanieLouise 227Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fstudio-gear-cosmetics-holiday-smokey.htmlStudio+Gear+Cosmetics+Holiday+Smokey+Eye+Palette+Review+%26+Swatches2013-12-09+13%3A56%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fstudio-gear-cosmetics-holiday-smokey-eye-palette-review-swatches.html

Holiday palettes are everywhere currently but I haven’t been showing some less expensive options have I? I feel like I’ve been awfully fancy shmancy lately! During the holiday season so many high end deals come out that I splurge more often. I had the opportunity to review the Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette so I thought I’d share my thoughts with you today!
From Studio Gear Cosmetics-
Studio Gear Cosmetics is a prestigous cosmetics brand featuring a full collection of professional makeup brushes, revolutionizing complexion formulas, and a wide selection of color products for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. This is a line created true to the concept that every woman deserves professional, high quality cosmetics at a reasonable price.
The Studio Gear Professional Brush Collection is the core of the line. Made only from the highest quality hairs and hand-tied for unbeatable quality, women around the country are using this collection to enhance their makeup application and express their creativity with precision. Customer loyalty is ensured through a lifetime product guarantee and with over 40 tools, everything from basic to advanced techniques are covered.

The Studio Gear color palette is vibrant and original – the colors are true, pure, and precise. The simplicity and quality in the eye shadows and lipsticks provide staple colors for any look, whether it be timeless or trend. Customers ask for products by name and keep coming back again and again.

This is my first time trying out Studio Gear line thus the long paragraphs above about the line. I honestly haven’t heard much because I think my ULTA is still getting their line in. You can purchase Studio Gear from the beauty departments of Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Dillard’s, HSN and ULTA & also on their own website. Being stationed out here I really only have access to ULTA so that’s likely why I have some Studio Gear ignorance. Because of some of the price points I saw online I had pretty high expectations, they are about on par with Stila or Smashbox price wise. The Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette is currently on sale on the Studio Gear website for $25 but the regular retail price is $40. That’s quite high for 4 eyeshadows & one blush in my opinion so I expect nice packaging, high quality pigmentation, fantastic texture, & a wearable look overall since this comes as a palette. After checking the ULTA website (where I’d naturally shop) they have this palette listed as $10 or free with any $30 Studio Gear purchase. Um. Okay? Whatever, onto the review shall we?

 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches01_zps2750aecb.jpg
 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches02_zps59484a2b.jpg
 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches03_zpsa6e4dca1.jpg

Let me start with the packaging: it doesn’t blow me away. It feels a bit cheap & the sleeve is pretty but once removed there is absolutely nothing about this palette I find “holiday” or even the palette name located anywhere. The palette is made from very thin but quite sturdy cardboard & it closes with an invisible magnetic closure. The front is simply black, grey, & white with their logo & name. The back has a long list of ingredients for each product inside. Zero decoration or anything that would let me know the name of this palette later on or that I bought it around the holidays. Guess the sleeve is supposed to stay on? The one pro on packaging is that although quite thin I find it very sturdy, worth mentioning again in fact.

 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches04_zps5633df21.jpg

Inside…we have no mirror. Maybe this is a personal pet peeve but I just dislike wasted space. Sure the look idea is pretty but I would have preferred it on an extras card or even on the back of the palette. Mirrors reign for me. The look idea is also just a sticker, mine is already starting to pull & peel a bit at the edges. Not impressed. The one nice thing about the top of the palette is you can see the shade names I suppose, again, something that could have gone below each eyeshadow or on the back of the palette. The not so nice part about the diagram is that it has the eyeshadows located in the wrong places…not sure if mine is a dud or if they’re all like this. They specify how to get the look using lots of other Studio Gear products, none of which I’ve tried or were included with the palette itself but it is a standard smoky look.

 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches05_zps882b920e.jpg

Let’s dive into the actual products shall we? You receive 4 eyeshadows & one blush which is in the center of the palette. All of the products contain shimmer. The blush is Snowy Glow & the eyeshadows are Platinum, Frost, Coal, & Glimmer.

 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches06_zps76f9781f.jpg
 photo StudioGearHolidaySmokeyEyePaletteReviewSwatches07_zpsd22b908c.jpg

Left to right: Frost, Platinum, Coal, & Glimmer. Bottom is blush in Snowy Glow.

The pigmentation on this palette is pretty poor although the shade Platinum & Snowy Glow blush are absolutely lovely. Snowy Glow is very similar to NARS Orgasm or TheBalm Hot Mama blushes, a beautiful peachy pink with golden shimmer. It is much prettier once swatched than I had anticipated in the pan. Frost (a frosty, shimmery white) is extremely difficult to work with- very flaky, crumbly, & barely any pigmentation. Glimmer is actually pretty in the pan (a very pale gold with hints of champagne) but swatches extremely sheer. This was the most depressing for me because I actually don’t have anything like it & it is lovely in the pan. Coal is kind of a poorly pigmented shade but that isn’t so terrible if you’re just looking to blend or darken. Coal is a chalky medium silvered charcoal with silver shimmer. Platinum is by far the standout in the eyeshadow category- buttery & beautiful metallic silver. I wish the rest of the shades performed this well, it is truly lovely.

Overall I can see where they were going with this palette & if you pick up some other items from Studio Gear at ULTA I think this is a nice freebie. At $10 (or even less after the holidays) I think this palette might find a happy home in someone’s stash for the shade Platinum & the blush in Snowy Glow. Because this didn’t perform for me personally I don’t see myself reaching for it much but I’d still really like to try some more Studio Gear items to check out if this was some kind of fluke. Especially the blushes! If you chose to order from the Studio Gear website you can also use code SGHOLIDAY for 10% off.

What do you think? Have you tried any items from Studio Gear? Anything I need to check out in particular?

7 Reasons Why I’ll Be Young Forever

December 7, 2013 By StephanieLouise 228Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2F7-reasons-why-ill-be-young-forever.html7+Reasons+Why+I%27ll+Be+Young+Forever2013-12-07+15%3A31%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2F7-reasons-why-ill-be-young-forever.html

sponsored post

If you talk to anyone over the age of 50 they’ll tell you: Don’t put off the good stuff. Be happy now. Take care of yourself NOW. Love right this minute. And most importantly, find a way to make yourself happy day to day. Not every day will be the best day ever but as long as you’re living a generally happy life you’ll be healthier. If I’m happy, laughing, & excited about life…well isn’t that what being young is all about?

 photo DSCN0122_zps28f52a11.jpg

1. I have learned to take time to breathe.
I used to not be able to take time for myself, which is just silly. What is 20 minutes compared to the 24 hours in a day?  I now make sure I take some me time- especially when I feel like I don’t have the time for it. Honestly, that is when I need it the most! Sometimes it is just flipping through a new magazine or catching up on an awful soap (don’t judge me) but it definitely helps. I also drink a lot of tea & sometimes I make myself stand in front of the machine while it heats up my water & just breathe to gather myself for the day or evening. It helps!

 photo OurFurBabyFamily2013_zps17001f56.jpg

2. I am in love with being in love & loved.
My husband & I have been married for 5 years & I just can’t imagine my life without him. He makes me laugh like nobody else & we really fit. I love the feeling of being in love! On top of that, I’m the proud mommy to a total of four fur babies. Yes. Four. All of them are rescues & if that isn’t love what is? I’m they’re favorite too so that’s a sweet bonus. As if I wasn’t blessed enough in my own home I am also really close with both of my parents. I talk to one or both of them nearly every day & we’re friends. I love this age! Throw in friends & I’m set. Love all around!…in a good way of course.

 photo HappyCouplesampButterflies2013_zps0ba5b3c7.jpg

3. I’ve embraced the flaws.
I’ve always been hard on myself & nit-picky but in the past few years I’ve gotten a lot better about things. I’ve tried to let go of the things I can’t change whether they are medical, spiritual, or just part of this random life. With a husband in the military & being so far away from family & friends, sometimes I feel adrift. Which can be depressing. But I try to remember that nothing bad is long term & we’re just waiting for our next happy place. Life is never going to be long enough for me to worry about that stuff! Sure, my eyebrows definitely aren’t identical & I still can’t whistle but look at all the awesome stuff I can do! Seriously. I’m pretty happy with that stuff.

 photo MyPhotoBoardAboveMyDesk_zps5d195d38.jpg

4. I am constantly dreaming.
Goals & dreams are really important in my life. If I didn’t have something to work towards I think life would be extremely dull. I want to be in a magazine someday, learn to make sugar art, & so many random things across all my many interests. I think the key is to have a lot of little goals on the way to the big dreams, like learning to drive a stick or running a 5k. Pick something you can accomplish today & it will lift your spirits.

 photo YoutubeStephlouiseatb_zps47ccd07f.jpg

5. I find my work quite enjoyable the majority of the time.
If you’ve ever worked a cruddy job you feel me here. My job definitely isn’t for everyone but I get to work with products & write my thoughts for others to read. I never thought I could have a real job I liked this much! Working the stank jobs really helped me figure out what I did like (working for myself, beauty, writing) & what I didn’t (working in food, customer service, sales). I think finding a career is so much easier once you know what you don’t like! I wake up excited to work & take breaks when I’m sick. I can’t complain much! You guys really make my life so much better!

 photo CIMG0144_zps5cefadcd.jpg

6. I always strive to be a better me.
This kind of goes back to dreams & goals but it really is that important. Making lists, planning vacations, trying new things… keeping life interesting I suppose. Just because I failed at something once doesn’t mean I will again! I can’t tell you how many companies I reached out to (when I was newer to blogging) that turned me down & then came knocking when I had put in more time, effort, & knowledge for them to see. I think it is important to be a well-rounded person as well- hobbies are important! So is some lounge time!

 photo MybestfriendSarahampIattheOldTheaterinOmahaNE_zpsee04f3aa.jpg

7. I try my best to be positive.
Yeah, this one can be tough. I am an anxiety-ridden person naturally so this is something I’m constantly working on. In order to be happy (& not become a grumpy, old person at age 24) I have to force myself to see the positive things. I do actually say clichés to myself like “When a door closes…” here & there & oddly enough that helps! Remaining positive makes me feel better, stand up straighter, & laugh a whole lot more.

 photo MainPhotoHeader_zps5ee22d16.png

Although you guys know I’m a huge SPF supporter & hoard skincare, the truth is you’re as young as you feel inside. Now don’t expect me to be rooting for wrinkles anytime soon but I’m a firm believer that if you feel good you will also look better too! And this, ladies & gents, is why I’ll be young forever!

Scunci Headbands Hairstyles Overview & Giveaway! OPEN US & Canada!

December 7, 2013 By StephanieLouise 229Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fscunci-headbands-hairstyles-overview.htmlScunci+Headbands+Hairstyles+Overview+%26+Giveaway%21+OPEN+US+%26+Canada%212013-12-07+03%3A05%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fscunci-headbands-hairstyles-overview-giveaway-open-us-canada.html

 photo ScunciHeadbandsHairstylesHairDIYTutorialEasyGiveawayMain_zps1c6179d3.jpg

PR Sample. Affiliate links.

When it comes to my hair I have some serious issues during winter. Not only is my hair already dry but then it drops below zero & kicks up an icicle wind. I’m not even exaggerating! I love a pretty headband, especially this time of year, to keep my long, thick hair looking good…& out of my face. Scunci was kind enough to send me some of their headbands to check out & they’re giving away one of your choice to two of my readers! Keep reading to see what I think & to enter to win!

 photo ScunciHeadbandsHairstylesHairDIYTutorialEasyGiveaway005_zps27849bb6.jpg
 photo ScunciHeadbandsHairstylesHairDIYTutorialEasyGiveaway006_zps6be1f703.jpg

First let’s look at my very favorite headband shall we? This is a Scunci Animal Print Knotted Headband that is a mix of black & blue based grey.Maybe it is my insane bias to animal print (RWAR!) or maybe because this headband nearly matches the grey-blue in my eyes…but I am absolutely loving it. I love that this is wrapped in a light chiffon type material, it looks like something you could wear to a work even or out on the town with the girls. Versatility, that’s what a headband is all about! I paired it with an easy, messy side bun because why not right?

 photo ScunciHeadbandsHairstylesHairDIYTutorialEasyGiveaway001_zpsba8a8843.jpg

Next up is a headband that isn’t quite my personal style but I can see a lot of people really loving it. This is a thin silver metal headband with a side ornamental flower cluster in black, pink, & diamond. Cute & very sweet.

Next up is another animal print because I have zero self control. This actually comes in a duo pack with a chocolate brown headband accompaniment. These are super stretchy & beyond comfortable to wear. Honestly, I’ll probably get the most use out of this one, I feel so sassy but not so fancy that I can’t rock a sweatshirt you know?

 photo ScunciHeadbandsHairstylesHairDIYTutorialEasyGiveaway004_zps49b6d482.jpg

Next up is what Scunci calls a “bohemian” “Wide Loose Knit Color Striped Headwrap” which happens to be another super comfy headband. This too comes in a duo pack with the pretty brown & blue shades which you can see at the top or bottom of this post. I decided to wear the crazy pink combo because there’s no way you wouldn’t notice it right? This is super comfy & I’ve been using it when I need to get my hair out of my face in a hurry.

Last is a very trendy headband that is called the Scunci 6-Strand Fabric & Beaded Headwrap. I really like this one, it is like hair jewelry! I don’t even feel super ancient wearing this one! I like the crochet detailing & laid back feel but I think it beings some interest to my hair with zero effort. I like it with this easy side twist.

Scunci was kind enough to offer to giveaway to TWO WINNERS your CHOICE of headband! This giveaway is open to US & CANADA! Good luck everyone, I can’t wait to see your favorites!

PR Sample.  Not Sponsored.

When it comes to splurge-worthy items hand care always comes to mind for me. I love doing nail posts for you guys but my cuticles do get try (especially with the cold weather!) & my nails do too. I work hard to take care of the skin on both my hands & feet but sometimes you need an extra boost! The gLOVE Treat products are a perfect fit & reusable! Keep reading to see my thoughts & TWO readers will win!

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway03_zpsc62b4368.jpg

If you’ve been following me for any length of time then you know I bettle dryness- eczema, dry skin, allergies, etc. I just have it all going on. On top of that, I have really sensitive hands & feet- as a child I never got to wear any fun shoes ever. They made me break out or cut in. I still have scars from my teenage years where I totally pushed it. Like an idiot. Anyway- back on topic- dry, somewhat sensitive skin.

I don’t go to the salon or have services done very often. I’m very particular about my products & have had bad reactions in the past. Plus, I can’t justify getting my nails done with the 2,000+ bottles of polish in my stash. My husband would kill me! I work hard to maintain my skin but I have been needing something intensive. Something new. & something that wouldn’t totally kill my holiday fund. Glove Treat came by just in time & I’m so excited to show you the results!

 photo GloveTreatProductBoxandBooties-1_zpsc89c0a2d.jpg

From gLOVE Treat– Tired, dry and aging hands and feet are a thing of the past with gLOVE Treat. gLOVE Treat is a revolutionary paraffin wax treatment for hands and feet that delivers instant results with long-term, anti-aging benefits. A patent-pending formula and application process, gLOVE Treat is unique, quick, and easy to do and use. Because it’s a hygienic single application, there’s no mess, no fuss.

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway04_zps06b1f956.jpg

So let’s start with the basics since both of these products are VERY similar! One is for hands & one is for feet but the overall concept is identical!

The Formula-
So basically these are big plastic gloves or booties filled with high quality ingredients. You’re looking at some virgin coconut oil (great for dry skin!), multiple types of cosmetic grade liquid paraffin & wax, essential oils, & nothing harsh. They are paraben & sulfate free. They also contain no faux fragrance. The fragrance itself is delightful & something I lean towards naturally. The formulas contains both coconut & lavender oils which just smell so comforting to me. If you’ve ever stayed at my house then you know my bedroom always smells of lavender because I have anxiety & it helps me sleep! This is a combination I feel good about putting into my skin.

How to Use Them-

1. Each set comes in a sealed package. Rip that baby open & check them out. They’ll feel firm because they’re room temperature. Don’t bother cutting the opening for your hands/feet just yet. Note the heart on the exterior, that will be coming up next! You’ll also have a little baggie with some bands & clips inside, just set those next to where you’ll be doing your treatment since you’ll want them later.

2. March over to your (CLEAN!) microwave & place both of them inside. Microwave them on high heat for 90 to 120 seconds. Remove them & sit them next to each other in the are you’ll be sitting. (I assume you’ll be sitting but if you’re actually doing yoga or something….more power to you?)

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway06_zps1ef915f0.jpg

3. You want to wait until the hearts on the front turn back to a dark shade meaning they’re ready to apply. While you’re waiting for them to cool off a bit, I recommend grabbing a big pair of socks or even towels to wrap around your hands or feet.

4. When the heart is dark, cut off the very tops of your boots/gloves with scissors. Use the elastics (or velcro if you have the gloves) to fasten them closed around the wrist/ankle.

5. Leave the treatment on for 15 minutes. It is going to cool down & like cooling paraffin it will become more malleable. This makes removal easier than expected.

6. Once the gloves are removed, rub in the excess oils into your skin with your hands.

To Store & Reuse- They come with small clips that you can also leave on when microwaving so you won’t have a mess. Store them with the clips somewhere out of the way until your next treatment. Recommended use is once a week.

Availability- You can purchase both of these sets from the gLOVE Treat website here.

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway01_zps22070aa5.jpg

Let’s break down the reason I really enjoyed both of these product & I’ll throw in some tips because I’m just that great, okay? I love that these are absolutely affordable treatments for me. If you break down the cost, you’re looking at $40 for one month which is 4 uses. That’s only $10 a pop! If you have dryness on your hands or feet & have looked at salon treatments before then you probably already know that’s a bargain & a half. I also found the treatment very relaxing & could really see the results afterwards- even in the days to come. The photo above is of my nice (now smooth!) hand 2 days after my treatment in between doing dishes & typing all day. I just had to stop & snap a picture, it is that impressive!

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway02_zps9b3de195.jpg

My Tips:

– Definitely use some kind of socks or towel with the booties! Both the gloves & the booties are rather large because they’re one size fits all (which is awesome because you’re getting a ton of product!) but this helps seal in more of the heat during treatment. Note Cobo above telling me how nice my booties smell beneath my mismatched socks. I know- I’m stylish.

– Apply after removing polish & cleansing hands/feet. The oils will really help treat dry nails & will help with texture issue. Most people don’t even realize their nails/cuticles are dry until this time of year but this will fix that!

– If you have long nails (hopefully on your hands…sheesh) have something to clean beneath your nails after the treatment like an orange stick or cuticle pusher. This will also help with your nail beds if you push cuticles afterwards.

–  Apply before bed so your skin can really soak up all of the residual oils. Obviously you can do it anytime you want but I found it most relaxing after I had brushed my teeth & washed my face so I knew I didn’t really have to do anything else for the night!

– Convince spouse they need to rub your feet or else it won’t feel enough like a spa treatment. I’m just kidding but if you can con yours into it like I did mine then you’re totally set.

I’m the first to say foundation is something I have trouble with. I have combination dry skin so moisturizers are a huge part of my life & often clash with anything long wearing. I also have freckles (oh, you didn’t know? ha.) so sometimes too full coverage & I can look like a completely different person & too light & all I notice are my freckles. I love my freckles, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes just uhg. When I was given the opportunity to work with the oh-so-famous Temptu & try out one of their Temptu Airbrush Makeup Kits to try out. The best part is they’re also giving one away to one of my readers! Keep reading to see my thoughts, video of my first impressions, & to enter to win your very own set!

Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Set with Mirror & Tweezer Review

December 4, 2013 By StephanieLouise 232Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fcrown-brush-hd-cosmetic-brush-set-with.htmlCrown+Brush+HD+Cosmetic+Brush+Set+with+Mirror+%26+Tweezer+Review2013-12-04+12%3A58%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F12%2Fcrown-brush-hd-cosmetic-brush-set-with-mirror-tweezer-review.html

PR Sample. Ifabbo partner.

I love a great set of brushes…especially if they are in some shade of purple.I’ve been buying Crown Brush products for years after first seeing them at IMATS LA a few years ago. I always hit their booth since they have a crazy huge variety & very reasonable prices. Even my mom has picked up some brushes & she is a brush minimalist! I also use their brush cleaner which smells a bit like lemon cakes. When iFabbo gave me the opportunity to try & then review the Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Set with Mirror & Tweezer I jumped at it & am now ready to share!

 photo CrownBrushHDVeganBrushSetpurpleReview01_zps1b030fb0.jpg

First let me tell you what this set contains: a set of tweezers, Detail Liner, Chisel Shadow, Crease Blender, Deluxe Contour, Tapered Blush, and Pro Powder & a zip around case which has a mirror. My set is purple with purple tips but there is also an orange set & a blue one both of which have coordinating colored tips. Cute.

These brushes are all vegan friendly, and can be used to apply liquids, creams, and powders. They are all also made with high grade synthetic fiber & after washing each of them at least twice I haven’t had any issues with shedding or the color on the brush tips fading or staining. The tweezers are actually pretty nice quality, perfect for applying lashes when traveling.

 photo CrownBrushHDVeganBrushSetpurpleReview03_zps9468ac67.jpg

The Detail Liner Brush just isn’t my cup of tea. I find it small for eyeshadow but too big for gel or actual eyeliner. I’m actually trying to figure this one out still since I line thinner eyeliner personally. I’m wondering if it will make a nice lip brush? It is soft but firm & flares a bit at the end while most of my liners come to a more narrow point. The Crease Blender Brush is a nice size & softness, perfect for blending the crease shade. I’ve actually been using this almost daily, it really has a nice shape for my small eyes. The Chisel Shadow Brush has a similar story, nice softness & size. I’ve been using this more to apply & lightly fan out cream shadows.

For face brushes, the Deluxe Contour just barely made the cut. I couldn’t decide if it was more of an eye brush (which I have loads of) or meant for face. I decided face. I used it to apply a matte contour to my hollows & it worked quite nicely. Very soft & easy to add color as needed. The Tapered Blush Brush is a surprise because it is quite dense which means it can really load on the product! I think I would be able to use this for foundation in a pinch too. The Pro Powder Brush wasn’t a love match for me unfortunately. When I do wear powder I need a way bigger & fluffier (less full) brush. I did use this to apply a bit of bronzer to my outter hairline though & I think you could also swing a highlighter.

While this set isn’t a slam dunk for me personally, there are some awesome brushes here. I think this would be a really nice gift too, it even comes in a case so they’ve done most of the work! You can purchase this set from Crown Brush here.
