Glossybox for May 2014 with Bergdorf Goodman Unboxing & Review
PR Sample. Affiliate links.

This month’s Glossybox here in the USA is purple- my favorite color! I mean pink is great & all but purple really needs more love. So Glossybox paired up with Bergdorf Goodman this month & even included a nice $25 gift card- good stuff. Inside the box are lots of lovely beauty products- check them out along with my thoughts!

Glossybox for May 2014 with Bergdorf Goodman Unboxing & Review

Here’s the card for this month. Look how beautiful that purple ribbon is! Maybe it stands out more because I’m so used to the pink? Anyway- handy card. I always appreciate the information & on the back of this one was even a $25 Bergdorf Goodman gift card. Nice!

Glossybox for May 2014 with Bergdorf Goodman Unboxing & Review

Inside my Glossybox for May 2014 with Bergdorf Goodman:

Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer- This primer feels a lot more like a lotion than a primer to me. It is really light but I’m not sure exactly well how long it made my makeup last. This needs more testing from yours truly. Great size 0.5 fl oz sample though!

Revive Intensite Volumizing Eye Cream- This is supposed to plump around your eyes & rebuild volume which honestly sounds super weird to me. I haven’t noticed it drastically improve my undereye darkness but it does have a nice luminosity which appears brightening. I’m not sure it was hydrating enough for my eyes sadly.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream- I cannot even tell you how excited I was to receive this- I’ve heard such great things! This CC Cream for your hair is supposed to do 10 things- moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection, & light hold. I have only been able to try it a few times but so far I reall like it on my clean hair & it smells absolutely amazing.

Atelier Cologne in Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolute- This is a brand I’ve never had the pleasure of trying before & I love fragrances! this is “a breathtaking seductress caught in a stolen affair between light & dark” …. no really that’s what it says! Despite the mini romance novel I like the notes of Turkish rose, ginger, & lots of patchouli-esque notes.

Lancer Eye Contour Lifting Cream- Another eye cream? This is another lifting type eye cream as well. Although not as brightening because it is only a cream I did find it more hydrating. & buildable under makeup. I prefer this out of the 2 in this box.

Iluminage Skin Prep Gentle Cleanser- I’m kind of a cleanser weirdo so I was excited to see a gentle one in this box. I didn’t find it was great at removing long wearing makeup but it was nice in the morning when I was just washing my face.

This box wasn’t my favorite but I do love the pricey fragrance sample! I hope there is more makeup next month- 2 eye products was a bit too much for me! If you’re interested in signing up for Glossybox USA it is a monthly subscription service for only $21 a month. I have posted lots of reviews so check them out for reference!

What did you think of this box? Have you signed up for Glossybox? If you got the May box, did you get anything different?

L’Occitane Au Bresil Collection- Summer Ready Body Care Review!

May 29, 2014 By StephanieLouise 110Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2014%2F05%2Floccitane-au-bresil-collection-summer.htmlL%27Occitane+Au+Bresil+Collection-+Summer+Ready+Body+Care+Review%212014-05-29+15%3A48%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2014%2F05%2Floccitane-au-bresil-collection-summer-ready-body-care-review.html

L'Occitane Au Bresil Collection- Summer Ready Body Care Review!
PR Sample. Affiliate links.

I absolutely love L’Occitane & have used their products for years. I think my first product was likely the hand lotion which is a cult favorite! Now they have come out with the L’occitane Au Bresil Collection & it is pretty incredible…& I have 3 products to share with you! Let’s take a look at the L’Occitane Jenipapo Protecting Body Jelly Milk SPF 20, Jenipapo Protecting Body Oil SPF 15, & Vitória Régia Day Flower Body Lotion below!

So, in case you haven’t been around long, I am an SPF freak. I grew up in southern California where I tanned way too much & wore SPF way too little. After growing up some (& moving further from the ocean than I ever thought possible…) I looked at my family history, slapped myself, & now the only tanning I do is from a bottle. SPF on my face is my main concern but SPF on my body isn’t far behind!

L'Occitane Au Bresil Collection- Summer Ready Body Care Review!

Jenipapo is a tree with golden flower found in the Cerrado region in the heart of Brazil- which apparently smells incredible. The Jenipapo Protecting Body Oil with SPF 15 is such a cool product- I don’t know if I own another oil with SPF? The scent is fresh & exotic- definitely something I’d wear night & day because I’m obsessive like that. If you love the glowy look of a body oil but don’t want to bake your skin (which you shouldn’t!) then this is perfection!

Another product in this line is the Jenipapo Protecting Body Jelly Milk with SPF 20. If you aren’t an oil fan but also don’t want a thick lotion- this is your best option from the Brazil collection. The Jelly Milk is just as scented but has more of a moisurizing gel feeling packed into a thin lotion. I love that both products come with a pump as well.

L'Occitane Au Bresil Collection- Summer Ready Body Care Review!

So the one product of the 3 without SPF is also from a completely different line- that’s the Vitória Régia Body Lotion. This lotion “captures the scent of the white, newly blossomed Vitória-Régia petals in an aquatic fragrance marked with green freshness” which is a completely new scent to me! There is also notes of orange, lemon, & apple so it is kind of an energized floral scent. I don’t find the scent too overpowering so it doesn’t clash with perfumes- in fact I’d like this scent in some kind of perfume to layer it on to last longer! It is an easy, clean moisturizing lotion that isn’t too dense or too thin.

Now just because these are all body products don’t think that’s all that is available in the L’Occitane Au Bresil line- there’s a lot more. I’d really love to get my hands on the Mandacaru products so I can give them a sniff & the fragrances since I love these scents so much. You can check out all of their products on the L’Occitante site to find what will be best for you.

What are your favorite L’Occcitane products? Will you be checking out their Brazil inspired collection? How do you keep your skin safe in the heat?

NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!
PR Sample. Affiliate links.

Are you a lip junkie like me? Lip Monthly is a new beauty subscription that promises to deliver new lip products to your door for only $10 a month! I had the opportuity to check out their very first box of products- keep reading to check out what was inside & my thoughts!

So here’s my unboxing video for Lip Monthly & I’m wearing two of the products. You can also see all of the products swatched for a better feel.

NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!

So inside is a handy dandy card. I am always tough on services that don’t provide one- they’re just so helpful. I think this one is nicely condensed with information on one side & product basics on the other. Also note that if you do a video review you get a bonus product the next month & one non-lip makeup/beauty item.

NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!

I also have another little info card included about the Glam Natural products which you can see in the video & above.

NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!

The box is kind of a funny size- I hope they decide to make bigger ones so everything fits inside! The packaging is basic but sturdy. I like that this felt secure but not bulky.

NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!

So inside we have 4 lip products & one mascara. Check them out below!

GlamNatural Poco Locoo Lip Gloss- This is a super creamy color & the peach shade is gorgeous! I love the ingredients & the texture is lovely & almost mousse-like.

Stila Glaze Lip Liner in Fuchsia- My first ever Stila lipliner- a long time coming! This shade isn’t super pigmented but is very buildable. The finish is a satin & I love the coolness of this shade which can help make teeth appear whiter.

Lipology Outrageously Moist Wet Color Lip Gloss in Pink- This is a super shiny gloss & also a bit sheer. It stays nicely & my favorite way to wear is is in the middle of my lips to make them look fuller!

Hardy Candy Lip Tattoo Lip Gloss in Fantasy-  A gloss with 2 sides is usually a hit for me but this stain just isn’t my color. I do love the the minty side though! This one wasn’t for me sadly.

Ultraflesh Panthera Mascara- A nice mascara that mimics a lot of high end- it really gets between my lashes. It isn’t great for thickness but is nice for coating each lash. The brush is a plastic wand with room between the bristles.

NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!
NEW Lip Monthly Beauty Subscription Review, Unboxing Video, & Swatches!

Left to right: GlamNatural Poco Locoo Lip Gloss, Stila Glaze Lip Liner in Fuchsia, Lipology Outrageously Moist Wet Color Lip Gloss in Pink, Hardy Candy Lip Tattoo Lip Gloss in Fantasy, & Ultraflesh Panthera Mascara.

Obviously since this is the first box I can’t go into too much detail about their past or what to expect- but I can say I’m excited at it overall. I think this is a smart subscription since lip products are almost considered collectables in the beauty world. I’d love to be sent holiday shades in December & bright shades for summer because I wear just about any color. It would be a great subscription for someone older or younger- you’ll just have to pass along shades that you aren’t crazy about & for $10 I definitely got something worth much more. What will future months bring? Only time will tell!

You can sign up for Lip Monthly here for only $10 a month although there are even better deals should you want to save even more cash!

What do you think of this subscription? There are boxes for eyeshadows & nails- are you interested in a lip based subscription service?

Beauty Box 5 May 2014 Unboxing Video & Review featuring Marker Aide, Ban, & More!
PR Sample. Affiliate links.

It’s Beauty Box 5 time for May ya’ll! Today I share my most recent box which contains items pretty perfect to get ready for summertime. Makeup, skincare, fragrance, & body care- this box is another awesome mix of products. Keep reading to check it out!

Here’s my video with first impressions! Don’t forget to subscribe to me on youtube as well!

Beauty Box 5 May 2014 Unboxing Video & Review featuring Marker Aide, Ban, & More!

Here’s the information card- all the basics listed here for each product included! Click to enlarge!

Beauty Box 5 May 2014 Unboxing Video & Review featuring Marker Aide, Ban, & More!

Masker Aide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask- My mask is amazing- & one of my favorites from any brand. The Pre- Party Prep Mask from Masker Aide is perfect for a night in or to prep for an amazing night out! I love that they’re vegan & 100% biodegradable too- no need to worry while I’m relaxing!

H20 Plus Aqualibrium Marine Cleansing Gel- This cleanser is oil-free & although the sample is small I can already tell it isn’t a perfect match for me. I need something that sweeps away makeup easier & is more moisturizing. I think this would be better for normal skin.

Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths- Ban is a line I used all through high school for deodorant- so this was a blast from the past! I tried these & I think they’re brilliant- the cooling feeling alone would get me to buy more. I have a feeling these would be perfect for hot/humid weather & after getting off a plane. Those moments when you need to feel clean even if you can’t jump in the shower. Bliss.

Harvey Prince Hello- I likely would have never picked this up on my own- & it is a gorgeous scent! You can see how surprised I was in the video! It is a perfect mix of pretty & energetic. The Meyer lemon is an amazing note- so great I just might need a full size to call my very own!

Cattiva Precision Eyeliner- This line is completely new to me & I’m always willing to test a new black liner! This isn’t the blackest I own but it has decent pigmentation & I love that it is retractable. I had a bit of a hard time getting this to go on my waterline cleanly though so I think it is better for my lashline.

You can subscribe to Beauty Box 5 monthly for $12 a month, $30 for 3 months ($10 a month), or even $99 a year (only $8.25 a month!) which is a pretty darn good set of options if you ask me! You receive 5 samples monthly & it has helped to introduce me to lots of new brands to play with!

If you receive Beauty Box 5- what did you get this month? Any other Masker Aide products I need to check out?

My Fantastical Makeup to Attend Wicked at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha

May 27, 2014 By StephanieLouise 1132 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2014%2F05%2Fmy-fantastical-makeup-to-attend-wicked.htmlMy+Fantastical+Makeup+to+Attend+Wicked+at+the+Orpheum+Theater+in+Omaha2014-05-27+14%3A07%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2014%2F05%2Fmy-fantastical-makeup-to-attend-wicked-at-the-orpheum-theater-in-omaha.html

Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes

PR Sample.Affiliate links.

First let me take a moment to absolutely freak about the awesomeness of the Wicked production. I’m a nerd indeed but it was fantastic. I knew I wanted to wear the glitter I got in my Glamour Doll Eyes Insider package which I unboxed here. I absolutely couldn’t believe how spectacularly perfect this green, gold, & holo mix would be! I added in some other Glamour Doll Eyes shades as well- keep reading to check it out!

Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes

I took some photos of the theater & to not completely make this post entirely too long I am putting a post of the gorgeous theater & my thoughts (& Ryan’s!) on the show! It isn’t sponsored & they have no idea who we are- we bought the tickets ourselves. I’ll be putting those photos up tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday on Home in High Heels.

Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes

So I apologize for zero full face shots of this look without my cell phone. I won’t even lie- was totally running late! I snapped these in the car & while they aren’t perfect I think you can get the general idea!

 photo WickedGreenGlitterEyeMakeupOrpheumTheaterReviewGlamourDollEyes008_zps6964af7d.jpg

I figured I’d throw this photo of my hair in too- this was like 5ish hours later & I had pulled some of my pins out before thinking to snap this. Sorry! I used a jumbo bun shaper & my hair is so long & thick that it almost creates like a double bun which I love. If you guys want a video tutorial on this just let me know.

Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes

On my eyes I used Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows & glitter. First I started with a black cream base which I smudged out to make sure my colors looked more smoky. I applied Hitchhiker on my eyelid & Morocco on my outter. I like the contrast of the brown with black eyeliner- I didn’t want it to be super dark just smoky. I applied Flawless as my highlight & to blend out any harsh lines.

Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes
Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes

I used a glitter glue on the inner part of my eye & applied the new Glitter Tube from Glamour Doll Eyes in  Waiting for Disaster which might the the most fantastical thing EVER. I didn’t want to go full on green & black so I really liked the way these shades blended together in the end. I added some winged linger & mascara- boom done!

Wicked Green Glitter Eye Makeup Orpheum Theater Review Glamour Doll Eyes

On my cheeks I have Rockateur Blush from Benefit which is a shade I seem to reach for more & more. It is kind of a blush/highlight so it is great when I’m running low on time too. On my lips I am wearing Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Nude Cream. This shade is so comfortable & with a watermelon scent- also a joy to reapply when needed.

So that’s it! I hope you guys enjoyed seeing my look! Don’t forget to check out more photos of the beautiful theater on my lifestyle blog tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday here- Home in High Heels.

Sally Hansen Color Frenzy Nail Polish in Red, White, & Hue Swatches & Review

Sally Hansen Color Frenzy 2014 Red White and Hue Swatches Review Memorial Day Manicure
I bought it.

I know this post is late but if you’re here in the US you’ve likely been celebrating Memorial Day! My husband is in the Air Force & many friends have served so this day is always important. I try to incorporate that into my nails often year after year- that just makes me happy! This year I have a brand new shade from the Sally Hansen Color Frenzy line called Red, White, & Hue- keep reading to check it out!

Sally Hansen Color Frenzy 2014 Red White and Hue Swatches Review Memorial Day Manicure

Sally Hansen Color Frenzy 2014 Red White and Hue Swatches Review Memorial Day Manicure
Sally Hansen Red, White, & Hue- A collection of red, white, & blue medium & small hex glitters suspended in a clear base. Seen here over Wet n Wild Black Creme with top coat. Applied using dabbing motions since the base is somewhat thick.

I found a display at my local Target but this is the only shade I picked up- although I did snap up 3 shades from a new Xtreme Collection that I love already! Glitter speaks to my soul. I’d like to note that on the bottle this nail polish claims to be “textured” but…I have no idea why. It isn’t dense, the base is even a bit gloppy, & I didn’t notice anything. That’s why my swatches are slapped with top coat. If you find another shade in this line that isn’t the same story I’d love to hear about it below!

What are your favorite red, white, & blue shades? If you’re from another country- what “flag” colors do you rock?

Zoya Bubbly Collection Summer 2014 Swatches & Review. This is the shade Muse. via @stephlouiseatb
Zoya Bubbly Collection Summer 2014 Swatches & Review. This is the shade Muse. via @stephlouiseatb

Zoya Muse – A brightened sea blue packed with iridescent glitter & golden/green shimmer. 2 coats.

First let me make excuses- these are so much more gorgeous in person. I found these hard to capture on film because of all the different shades & when they’re really flashing they almost look completely different. Each set of swatches are about 3 coats & I tried to do thin ones so they would be even. The texture on 5 out of 6 shades is kind of a jelly/sheer & each is packed with that iridescent glitter. I also used top coat as I always do.

Again….hard to pick a favorite! I think Stassi is my favorite of this bunch but then again I’ve been loving greens. I think these are all gorgeous to layer over other shades as well although Harper is more dense. I probably won’t layer Harper because I think it looks better opaque but the rest are stunning toppers. These shades are also wonderfully different from one another.

The Bubbly Collection is available on the Zoya website & each shade retails for $9. The Tickled Collection is also up on the blog here & I’ll have some nail art soon as well! What are your favorite shades from this collection?

I always have the hardest time playing favorites- especially with Zoya shades. All 6 shades in this collection is not only gorgeous but was perfect in 2 coats. Shade-wise I think Wendy might be my favorite of the moment because I am so digging the awesome melon shade! Tilda is likely what I’ll wear when I go see Wicked this week & Ling is an absolutely perfect blue. The pinks & Rocha are lovely too but I think I wore a lot of pink this spring so the other shades are shouting my name.

The Tickled Collection is available on the Zoya website & each shade retails for $9. The Bubbly Collection will be up on the blog next & I’ll have some nail art soon as well! What are your favorite shades?

I bought it. Affiliate link.

I was really surprised when checking in on the ULTA site because I know I saw the Laura Geller Baked Stackable Macaroons Set come out sometime last year! I did a bit of searching & indeed- it looks like it came out for Holiday 2013 but is now on the ULTA site. I’m not sure if I missed it or if it made a comeback but I was keen to check them out for myself! Keep reading to see all nine shades- 3 for eyes, 3 for cheeks, & 3 highlight shades!

From ULTA: A delightful assortment of Baked confections awaits! Swirls of liquid pigments are baked on terracotta pans for 24 hours and finished by hand to create three complementary NEW shades each of blush, highlighter and eyeshadow in soft washes of silky, long-wearing color. Inspired by luxurious, light-as-air sweets, these gorgeous goodies are perfect for creating unlimited looks for the face and eyes.

I was honestly hesitant to buy this set because I didn’t see people leaning one way or another in the reviewer section. They seriously love or hate it which, although likely completely true, is confusing as a customer. I don’t know how long this set will be availible but I figured for everyone else out there considering purchasing this post would be helpful to decide if it for you or not. I’m personally pretty familiar with Laura Geller baked products- some contain glitter, some glow, & some are nearly metallic. You won’t find matte in this collection so I won’t even go there on this one!

I think the packaging is adorable- a sweet macaroon inspired gift box with a trio of boxes topped with a macaroon containing your shades. It is simple & clean so it isn’t too young or mature feeling but somewhere in-between. Each shade comes in a nice sized compact housing1.8 grams of products each- which will last you ages since it is baked. I have a few eyeshadows & these are the same- half the top is clear plastic & the other half is an interior mirror.

All swatches are foiled on bare skin. Applied dry they’re softer & not as pigmented but I wanted to show what you can get at full pigmentation. Possibilities are endless really because these are baked- your shades might lean a bit more one way or another. The only shade I really take issue with dry I’ll address below.

Laura Geller Baked Brulee Highlighters in Honey Lavender, Toasted Coconut, & Dulce de Leche.

Aren’t these swirled shades beautiful? Honey Lavender has the most gorgeous swirls of lavender throughout it. Toasted Coconut is an amazing beige, so easy to wear & the perfect highlighter for all over the face & eyes. Dulce de Leche is also beige but more brown toned & deeper. I have to have a careful hand with this one on the cheeks but I love it on the eyes!

Laura Geller Baked Brulee Blushes in Gingerbread, Lychee Rose, & Cassis Violet.

I think this is my favorite trio & the most expected! Gingerbread is a surprise hit- in the pan it was hard for me to see how it would look on my cheeks but the copper-y shade is lovely! Lychee Rose is an amazing coral pink- really stunning. Cassis Violet is a beautiful plummy violet with a sheen & smoothness that applies perfectly.

Laura Geller Baked Brulee Eyeshadows in Orange Blossom, Mocha Latte, & Chestnut.

I honestly think these could have been bronzers & been a trio of face products but since they can be used all over the face I think of them as multi-purpose. Orange Blossom is the messiest of the bunch- the gold flecks looked like this before I even touched it. I have a really hard time applying this dry though so I recommend using it wet to avoid lots of fallout. Mocha Latte is more of a red based brown & applies well wet or dry. Very even in texture. Chestnut could have been in the highlighter category for me actually & it’s a very light taupe-y beige. This one also applies well & is definitely a multi-tasker shade.

I think this set of nine is an excellent value- this is set is also available online only for $49. Laura Geller baked products (& usually any baked products) take a nice, long time to get through. They also have the benefit of being used wet or dry. All of the shades are beautiful most have multiple uses as well. If you’re interested & know that these are all going to contain shimmer then I recommend checking it out for yourself while it is still available.

Which Laura Geller baked products are your favorite? Have you checked out this kit?
