Zoya Beach & Surf Summer 2012- Beach Swatches

April 1, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8372 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fzoya-beach-surf-summer-2012-beach.htmlZoya+Beach+%26+Surf+Summer+2012-+Beach+Swatches2012-04-01+18%3A13%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fzoya-beach-surf-summer-2012-beach-swatches.html

Since Zoya Beach & Surf are avilible for purchase TODAY on Zoya’s website, its only fitting I have the swatches for you! I love this collection so much even though it has 3 pink (ish) polishes which I’m usually kind of meh about. Zoya is a favorite brand not just because of ease of application or how opaque their polishes are but because these last pretty long without a topcoat on my finnicky nails. So let’s get started! All of these are 2 coats, no top coat, with artificial light. Dear sunlight, come back soon!

Zoya Shelby: A light bubblegum pink creme with blue undertones. I could have used a 3rd coat perhaps as this one didn’t go on as buttery as the others. Pretty for a light pink because it still has some pop to it.

Zoya Arizona: A tangerine creme that has some yellow undertones but it quite bright. I don’t like neon orange much so this is a happy medium for me.

Zoya Wednesday: A creamy teal with a very softened look. Even with all my teals I don’t have anything quite this shade. Unique & applied like a dream.

Zoya Reagan: A raspberry pink creme with a very rich look to it. This photographed darker than it actually is in all of my photos making it appear more purple & less pink. This color was very saturated.

Zoya Lara: A medium pink creme with a lot of brightness. This is my idea of a Barbie pink in case you were wondering! This also had lots of shine!

Zoya Tracie: The lone non-creme in this set! This is a pale grassy green with a silver frost to it. Do you see the veins in the bottle? I can’t wait to do bottle shots of it! This is truly captivating in the bottle! It applied very evenly despite the metallic notes.

My must haves are definitely Wednesday & Reagan but I have a strong bias to teal in any form & this raspberry pink stole my heart! All of these shades should look good on most skin tones except maybe Arizona which I have heard murmurs of not working on other bloggers. I did note that it made me look a bit yellow…but I will rock it none the less because its so unique to my collection.

Overall I think this is an extremely strong, creamy collection with the added bonus of Tracie. I will be wearing all of these shade sin one form or another over the spring/summer so keep on the lookout for bottle shots, comparisons which I’ll be doing throughout this week, & more swatches! This is one of the most fun but wearable collections I’ve received by any brand.

The Balm Plump Your Pucker Tinted Gloss in Tutti my Frutti Swatches & Review

March 30, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8383 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fbalm-plump-your-pucker-tinted-gloss-in.htmlThe+Balm+Plump+Your+Pucker+Tinted+Gloss+in+Tutti+my+Frutti+Swatches+%26+Review2012-03-30+14%3A28%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fthe-balm-plump-your-pucker-tinted-gloss-in-tutti-my-frutti-swatches-review.html

The Balm has had a lot of buzz going around about it recently, from the Nude Tude Palette to their nail lacquers. I have (I believe 2) nail polishes from them if you’d like to see those swatched but today I’m showing off a gloss. Below is my review of The Balm Plump Your Pucker Tinted Gloss in Tutti my Frutti…long name but I love it!

What The Balm/Dermstore says about these glosses: Formulated with a special combination of folic acid, menthol and vitamin C, these sexy glosses increase blood flow to the lips and reduce the look of fine lines. But the lip building benefits have only just begun. An additional ingredient, Maxi-lip, works cumulatively to create lasting fullness. Be prepared for a poutier pucker after 30 days!
Dermstore says Tutti My Frutti is a vibrant shimmery pink shade while the Balm calls it a ripe melon.

My Take: I think this is one of the few glosses that claims to make your lips look plump with out that sting that actually works. It almost reminds me of adding like a padded lipgloss because it comes out a tad thick which I like a lot. It comes out rich & dense…& lasts that way too! Normally thicker glosses look kind of…patchy? Yes patchy. But not this one. I think it also filled in my lines & I swatches this on kind of a dry lip day. I love this formula but the standout is definitely the color.

I describe Tutti My Frutti as a melon with peach/pink undertones. These are described as sheer which I guess can be done when you blot but I don’t find it sheer at all. This is jam packed with golden pink shimmer that makes me feel so spring/summer ready. The scent also reminds me of summer with a slight melon/grape scent that isn’t too overpowering. The color on this is gorgeous & because its denser it lasts longer than your average gloss.

You can pick this up at a few locations for $15-$19 but I keep hearing about The Balm popping up at TJ Maxx? So I guess check there as well! I know I picked up some Essie minis there recently so its worth a shot! What do you guys think of this shade?

My Silicone Popped by Spoiled Nail Polish Swatch

March 29, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8395 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmy-silicone-popped-by-spoiled-nail.htmlMy+Silicone+Popped+by+Spoiled+Nail+Polish+Swatch2012-03-29+17%3A46%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmy-silicone-popped-by-spoiled-nail-polish-swatch.html

Why yse you did read the name of this nail polish correctly! Scandalous no? Well, whether you love or hate it, this color is a beautiful one. The formula was also quite lovely in 2 medium coats except for my nail blemish. You will note some bubbling on my finger & a strange reflection in the light. This is where it was dented so the bubbling was not my fault or the polish. This brush was also a good one compared to some wonky ones I’ve received.

Spoiled’s My Silicone Popped: A mix of mauve/rose & coral with pink undertones. I classify this as a creme & it was very easy to apply.

I am loving this shade & I feel it is one of the shades in the Spoiled collection that would be great for year round wear. Honestly, the name is kind of garish is for me, but the shade is gorg. It comes off a bit warmer on camera but a bit cooler with flash. In person, its somewhere between those two.

What do you think? Does the name of this shade turn you off or do you think this is a wearable shade like me? This is one I really haven’t seen swatched much…

Physician’s Formula Casual Eye Palette Swatches, Review, & Eye Look

March 28, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8401 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fphysicians-formula-casual-eye-palette.htmlPhysician%27s+Formula+Casual+Eye+Palette+Swatches%2C+Review%2C+%26+Eye+Look2012-03-28+19%3A11%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fphysicians-formula-casual-eye-palette-swatches-review-eye-look.html

The Physician’s Formula Casual Eye Palette is only the first of the 4 palettes I’ll be reviewing in the super cute & original packaging. Coated in jean fabric with a zipper it is possibly my favorite. I mean really, how cute is that? I wanted to start with this because  feel like its perfect for the season ahead. Plus, look how it makes my baby blues pop! I chose to work with the middle 3 shades because I wanted kind of a casual look. I’ll have to take pictures of the other shades though because they are gorgeous! Interested? Keep reading!

I found all of these very blendable, like all of the PF palettes I own. The colors are definitely different but that’s what I like about it! Once again, these are not for a matte lover as they are all very shimmery. I think they are very easy to work with. Like all of these type of palettes though, the colors are RIGHT beside each other so you don’t get tons of any one color & it can be a tad messy over time. For me, its worth it though! I recommend checking out CVS sales because they tend to be the best for PF products. I’ve picked up some at around $3-$4 which is a steal! Also, this is one of the very few brushes I actually use. Its got a pointed sponge tip perfect for the shadow liner. The zipper obviously makes it a bit difficult to store but the cuteness factor overrides that for me.

Like I said, here’s the 3 middle blue shades used as recommended. I liked how simple a look it was & I got quite few compliments on it. I think blue eyeshadow/liner has a bit of a bad rep even today so its funny. I probably get the most compliments when I am wearing blue or purple! My bronzer is the new pH bronzer & my lips are rocking a Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake.

I think that about sums it up! You guys know I love these palettes, do you? Which is your favorite? & how about this packaging? Also, I think its time for my big, giant lip butter post soon! Any thoughts on those before it goes live?

Nail Polish Dupes: Milani in Teal & Revlon in Radiant

March 26, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8412 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fnail-polish-dupes-milani-in-teal-revlon.htmlNail+Polish+Dupes%3A+Milani+in+Teal+%26+Revlon+in+Radiant2012-03-26+16%3A48%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fnail-polish-dupes-milani-in-teal-revlon-in-radiant.html

So when I picked up one of these at CVS & then bought the other at Walgreens I was thrilled! I LOVE TEAL! Then I got them home, looked at both hauls & said “huh?” I mean they’re both gorgeous but they are VERY close in similarity. What is the difference? Which do I prefer? Keep reading!

Milani Teal: A clear base with somewhat teal but mostly blue based mini hex glitters. Within this base there is also medium to large hex glitters in that same blue/teal shade except slightly lighter, a medium green, & silver. These glitters are very dense.

Revlon Radiant- A clear base with dense micro hex glitter in more of a light sky blue. Bigger (medium-large) scattered glitters consist of that same sky blue, green, & silver.

Left to right medium coats: Revlon Radiant 2 coats, Milani Teal 2 coats, Revlon Radiant 1 coat, Milani Teal 1 coat.

So what’s the difference? First off, the blues are definitely different shades. The Teal is darker & more jewel toned while the Radiant is much lighter & softer looking. Second is density. Milani’s Teal will definitely be easier to apply if you like chunky glitter & a thicker base coat. This won’t cover the entire nail however. If you want a glitter to cover the entire nail, Radiant will do that. This isn’t as impressive IMHO but it will layer more densely due to the micro glitters being way more dense. I personally prefer the Milani Teal because I like the colors better however Radiant might be more “springy” to other. Dupes? Not quite, but definitely a similar concept. All of these photos are color accurate & my base is Essie’s Borrowed & Blue.

Left to right medium coats: Milani Teal 1 coat, Revlon Radiant 1 coat, Milani Teal 2 coats, Revlon Radiant 2 coats.

So which do you prefer? I like them both & definitely think they’re both worth a look. Interest polishes either way really. I don’t believe I have anything else like them unless I did a glitter sammich.

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor Review

March 26, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8426 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fgillette-venus-olay-razor-review.htmlGillette+Venus+%26+Olay+Razor+Review2012-03-26+00%3A24%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fgillette-venus-olay-razor-review.html

I must say, I usually try everything from Olay at least once. My mom has always reached for Lancome & Olay since I can remember so they are kind of a natural choice for me. I must say, I didn’t see this coming! Olay partnering to make a razor? But they did, & I love it! I received this in my Love Voxbox from Influenster & I’m glad I did!

What Gillette Venus & Olay say about this product:
For the first time ever, Gillette Venus, a global leader in female shaving, and Olay, a global leader in skincare, are coming together to deliver a gold standard in shaving with the new Gillette Venus & Olay razor. Venus’ best shaving technology works with Olay Moisture Bars, offering women best-of-both-worlds shaving and skin expertise. Olay Moisture Bars help lock-in moisture to your skin for less dryness, and with every smoothing stroke, Venus’ five blades shave you close.
Product Details
  • Venus’ five-bladed razors shave you close and adjust to women’s curves for a smooth and comfortable shave, even over tricky shaving areas like knees and ankles.
  • Olay Moisture Bars contain skin-enhancing elements found in Olay products: Petrolatum helps lock in skin’s moisture for less dryness and Glycerin helps offer that goddess glow! Just wet the razor to release a light lather – no separate shave cream required.
  • As with most Venus razors, new Venus & Olay also features a rounded, pivoting head designed for women’s curves, and a soft-grip ergonomic handle for confident control, even in wet and soapy environment
 My take:
So there are some real positives to this razor! This might sound strange, but I’m razor picky. For a long time, I loved the Intuition razor for a long time, but it only worked on my legs because it was too bulky for my underarms & didn’t always get my ankles well. Then I fell for the Gillette Venus (the regular one I guess?) because it was so precise. But after using the Intuition, it was annoying to use a shave gel again because I had to, not by choice. Then in walks this beauty from Gillette Venus & Olay.

Big moisturizing head? Check! Look at it next to my Essie bottle for reference!

Great blades that kill every hair? Check.
Ah, the power of this combination. Ultra moisturizing, sturdy, comfortable to hold, & come with a much better holder than the previous box like contraption. I like the simplicity of just the hanging hook. Also, much less slippery/bulky than my Intuition as well!

My ONLY negative? The price is pretty steep for only one blade. Yep, mine only came with one blade in this package. But, I love what it does. I pretty much switched out 2 razors for 1! I don’t recommend this one if you don’t shave daily though because your bar will get funky. Also remember to keep it in a dry place so the bar doesn’t melt off!

Where you can get it:
A refillable Venus & Olay with one replacement cartridge sells for approximately $8.99-$10.99. Packages of three replacement cartridges are available for about $14.99 – $19.49.

Venus & Olay will be available starting March 15, 2012 at  food, drug, convenience and mass merchandise stores throughout the United States.

Well, the Kiss Nail Dress Outlasted Me!

March 24, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8434 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fwell-kiss-nail-dress-outlasted-me.htmlWell%2C+the+Kiss+Nail+Dress+Outlasted+Me%212012-03-24+14%3A15%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fwell-the-kiss-nail-dress-outlasted-me.html

Fact: I put these up Monday the March 19th & it is now Saturday March 24th.
Fact: In this period of time, I have taken 4 showers & 2 really hot, long bathes.
Fact: These still look like the day I put them on.

I didn’t expect this. I mean, if you read my post on these Kiss Nail Dress accessories, then you know I used them one my nails & toes. Well, here I am ready to take them off my nails! Can you believe some peelies lasted this long? I mean, I have to be honest, I thought they would be a girl’s night out type of deal. Well, I do still think they’d be fab for that occasion, these blew my expectations away!

Lowdown on my week: Playdough, washing my thick hair, typing incessantly, light gardening, lots of cooking, playing hungry hungry hippos with the kids which is much harder on your nails than I was lead to believe, ripping open mail, eating oranges, organizing my office….are you getting a picture of my nail use?
Well, I removed them from my hands. They lefts a slight residue but that was easy to remove with some acetone. My nails aren’t damaged at all, in fact, the probably look better than they did before because I haven’t been painting them incessantly. I don’t know how they did it, but they made miracle stickers. Somehow they took the window decals & made them incredible beauty finds! If I didn’t have some new polish designs to show you guys, I seriously would have worn them on through. But they are still on my toes, as I don’t know how! I have TINY toe nails but there they are, looking fab.

I promised to update & I have! I’ll let you know on twitter how long they last on my toes! Hopefully writing this didn’t jinx me! How long did yours last if you have tried them? How long do they last from other brands? What a fun Spring Break idea!

* These were sent to me from Influenster but this in no way impacts my opinions.

Spoiled Nail Polish I Only Eat Salads Swatches & Review

March 22, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8456 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fspoiled-nail-polish-i-only-eat-salads.htmlSpoiled+Nail+Polish+I+Only+Eat+Salads+Swatches+%26+Review2012-03-22+14%3A23%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fspoiled-nail-polish-i-only-eat-salads-swatches-review.html

So while I’m wearing my KISS Nail Dress in Bodysuit & testing out the wear, I thought I would show the the long awaited swatch of Spoiled’s “I Only Eat Salads” which is amazing. I used this in my Rainbow Sponge Manicure & it was a standout for sponging.

Spoiled Nail Polish in I Only Eat Salads: A yellow-green lime shade that’s a creme. No shimmer in sight.

The first coat was streaky, something about the brush, but the 2nd made is completely opaque. I love this polish!

I topped this shade with 1 coat of Seche Vite which glossed right on & made the finished product pretty stunning!

I picked this up at CVS for only $1.99. To see some other shades I picked up (gee I buy a lot!) just type a brand or color into my search bar or scroll down to the very bottom where you’ll see lots of clickable options!

Do you have this shade? Loving it for spring & summer especially!

Kiss Nail Dress in Bodysuit Review + 3 Ways to Use Them!

March 21, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8462 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fkiss-nail-dress-in-bodysuit-review-3.htmlKiss+Nail+Dress+in+Bodysuit+Review+%2B+3+Ways+to+Use+Them%212012-03-21+15%3A38%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fkiss-nail-dress-in-bodysuit-review-3-ways-to-use-them.html

So I love these types of products, but I always find myself wavering about them. From KISS to Sally Hansen to other decals, they cost about $8-$10, often more. I can get a sweet bottle of polish for that! So when I shell out the dough, it needs to be worth it!

When Influenster sent these to me to review in my Love Voxbox I was over the moon. The print, the shimmer, the metallic touches, …Ahhhh right up my alley! But what could I do to make them more original? How could I make my review worthwhile to readers? Then it came to me. If I want to most bang for my buck, wouldn’t you?

So you get 3 seperate sheets of decals in the package plus a nail file. When applying, they feel like super thin, slightly stretchy window decals. Easy to stick, I rub my finger over it to seal, & that’s about it. The idea is to file off the excess but I prefer cutting it close to my nail then filing. For each of the 3 methods, see below!

FROM ONE PACKET OF KISS NAIL DRESS:

1. Full Manicure. I was able to apply a full manicure to my hands with little to no mess. I had to cut a few to size because my nails are so small BUT I saved the excess so I could use them in step #3.

2. Pedicure. I was also able to give myself a full pedicure. Granted I have tiny nails, but heck, I’ll take it!

3. Lots left over for nail art! I saved the large pieces from my mani & pedi so I can use them later! Leopard tips? Stripes? Hearts? Who knows, but the options are endless!

Get what I’m saying? That’s a lot of bang for your buck! This set retails for only $6.99 & I got a manicure, pedicure, & extras for nail art! Can’t beat that!

Influenster sent me the option “Bodysuit” which is amazing. White base with hot pink & vibrant purple details. On top of that is a silver shimmer base that’s gorgeous, but not over the top. The last details are black & metallic silver leopard spots, rawr! Love how over the top & Jerseylicious it is!

You should be able to pick these up in this shade & many others (some with jewels!) for $6.99 from CVS, Walmart, & Walgreens.

*As I said this was provided from Influenster.
