It seems like every year or so everyone all of a sudden has the same holy grail concealer & I am always on the fence of purchasing. After returning the famous NARS concealer (it was too close to a drugstore option!) last year, I thought it was time to give another high-end concealer a shot. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer immediately caught my eye for two reasons- Urban Decay actually makes shades light enough for my skin & I love a full coverage concealer. Keep reading to see if it is a hit or a miss!
This concealer from Urban Decay lets you cover imperfections without looking covered up. It’s easily blendable and buildable, giving you even coverage with a luminous, demi-matte finish. Ultra-lightweight, this high-tech liquid formula never settles into fine lines, and it melds on for a no makeup look while full coverage in an instant.
The shade I selected it (as usual) the very lightest shade- so here you’ll be seeing Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Fair Neutral. I absolutely love this foundation I reviewed from Urban Decay here so I had quite high expectations & this concealer actually matches up with the meticulous Urban Decay Naked Skin range. Add into that all the hype surrounding this newer release & I had some very particular ideas of what I was looking for! I’ve got a lot of concealers in my stash but what I’ve been really needing is something that won’t settle into lines & will cover blemishes without totally amplifying them. Corrective undereye concealers are aplenty in my collection because I have a fabulous duo of anxiety & insomnia but I also hoped this concealer could help there too. I have been on the hunt for something I can use just in my inner corners that I can apply makeup over without it looking like…well really, really bad. Tall order right?
I was worried when I read about how hydrating it was. You would likely be surprised to hear that if you’ve been around for awhile because you know I have dry skin but often things that say “moisturizing” are code for “not long wearing” or “smudges easily” which isn’t exactly a pro. This concealer formula is enriched with peptides, Japanese green tea, & Litchiderm™ (derived from lychee fruit) which all help to protect skin against dehydration. This applicator is actually an amazing addition too- very soft but really holds onto product. With this formula, you really don’t need much so I’m glad it didn’t come packaged like the MAC concealer that I wanted to love but hardcore hate. We rage together frequently.
So what do I think? I think I should heighten my expectations more often since this time they were exceeded! Not only does this work on my spots but also around my nose! The nose is the most difficult area for me, I always have patchiness & redness there that just looks worse & worse with more concealer caked on. I use a very small amount then blend with a fluffy concealer brush with a combination of blending & stippling motions. This isn’t the highest coverage concealer I own but it is also super lightweight which makes blending & layering a breeze. Here I’m actually wearing it under my eyes as well, blended similarly. While I like the lightweight feel & long wear, this isn’t quite as hydrating as I need in that area. Where it really shines by my eyes is in the inner corners (exactly what I wanted!) where I often get discoloration. This blends, sets, & acts as a base if necessary without creasing all over the place. They did some serious science with this formula!
You can purchase the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer from Sephora, Ulta, & wherever Urban Decay is sold. The concealer is available in a decent-sized shade range with 8 shades total available at the time of this post.
