In the past few years, along with liquid lipsticks & matte lip options, lip treatments have completely blown up. I’ve tried all natural remedies, funny shapes, & all kinds of other options on the way. I’m a huge Clinique fan so when I saw these adorable macaroons…I knew I needed them in my life! If you’ve been around even a little while then you know It Cosmetics is my jam. I’ve reviewed SO much from the lines that has been a huge hit- this eyeshadow palette (here’s a tutorial even!)…& its Volume 2, these fantastic lipliners, this ridiculously great primer for dry skin…I could go on & on. No really- I could. Today I’m talking about the Your Superheroes Full-Size Travel Brush Set which is part of the It Brushes for ULTA line. I actually have a black case & now it comes in pewter but other than that- everything is the same! [Read more…]

As many of you know- moving has been rough! Now that I’m finally here & finally almost unpacked…I thought maybe I’d share some of my tips for moving beauty products! Makeup & beauty items can be really expensive to move because many companies won’t move them or charge extra. I’m going to break down how I packed up my stuff safely! Which will save you some cash!
Nail polish is one of the hardest things to move long distances & most moving companies give you the head shake on it. This isn’t surprising because it can be tough to ship as well but it still really screws things up for us nail lovers! So how did I pack it considering my collection is…massive…& I can’t move them in an open shelf. I saved a bunch of empty beauty boxes & used them for my favorite polishes. I packed them very securely too- no wiggling! The next thing I did was use super thick socks to pack my other polishes into plastic bins. I stacked these in the bottom of book boxes with lightweight items on top. Were they heavy? You bet! But I only had 2 leak & none break!
This was one of my most exciting finds! I have a TON of makeup brushes & varying sizes & I had no idea how I was going to manage to move them without major damage. Makeup brushes can be finicky & really delicate. & expensive! I didn’t want to take any chances! I washed all of my brushes (wow that took forever!) & then separated them into similar uses for my own peace of mind. Then I used these handy brush slips that I found for an amazing price on Amazon. I’ve used some from more expensive brands but these are a steal! These help keep your bristles correct & I packed them into boxes so they would be safe. Worked like a charm! The brush guards also work great to hold their shape after you wash them!
Eyeshadows are some of my most valuable items- I mean they’re often limited edition! That makes them crazy hard to replace! So how did I pack them without breakage? Very carefully. I picked up some small plastic bins & used a mixture of foam & towels both on the bottom & on top. It took awhile to fit the palettes together like a puzzle to keep them safe & secure but it worked like a charm! I made sure they stayed somewhere they wouldn’t get damaged or rocked as well.

Let me tell you a tale- a story of going out after work unexpectedly with a gigantic purse packed to the hilt. First, it took me several minutes of digging to even find my wallet. Next- I dropped a half full water bottle in the middle of a restaurant. To top off the evening I actually had my strap break which trying to mingle my way back to my car in a full bar. I’m so glad this wasn’t some kind of date. This was the night I discovered the Emergency Clutch…
What is it you ask? Basically it is a clutch I can grab out of my car/work & take out with me at night. I’m not talking about a first aid kit or camping set… Just in case I’m missing any necessary items to get a bit more glammed up that I don’t usually keep in my car I keep them in the clutch too. It helps me transition to night or update my look quickly on the go. Let’s break down what I keep inside!
First let me show you my clutch- see how basic it is? I tried to pick something really basic. My basic might not be your basic- you might want to pick something with silver metal, no metal at all, or in a pattern. I also chose something with a sturdy wrist strap which is handy to grab & go. This one happened to be on sale at Old Navy a long time ago & I still dig the classic lines. Here are a few similar idea styles here, here, & here.
Ever been on a trip & regretted forgetting something? I know I have. Here is a list of some of my favorite beauty items that help me make it more comfortably without a trip- without bringing out my entire stash. Because for some reason people think that’s illogical! This is a special list because it isn’t my basic favorites like certain palettes but usually multi-purpose beauty products I find handy on the go! Plus a look at my favorite new makeup bake from the Hold Me Company! It is pretty incredible! [Read more…]
